The freeway noise was almost lulling when the people upstairs stopped slamming doors and banging around. Sounded like they were practicing for a tumbling meet, and it lasted all night!! I made an Internet reservation from Sonoma for the Best Western in Salinas on Kern St. When I arrived, no reservation was in the system. The clerk said that happens all the time--but there was a room available and I took it. I asked if I would be billed for the Internet reservation, he said no. My Visa bill arrives... more
