Spent a night here on the way to San Francisco.....This Comfort Inn is fairly new and the beds are very comfortable....The sheets and pillows smell very clean and the room was immaculate...The a/c filter was clean ....Overall, we were pleased with the service....The breakfast area was very small but the breakfast was good (bagels, eggs, sausages)....We just took our stuff... I decided to stay at this hotel at last moment. Because I couldn't get decent booking in Monterey. My choice worked out better. Very nice place and very helpful staff. They made sure my room was ok once I went to room. Breakfast bar was great. I highly recommend this to everyone traveling to Monterey area. This way you would... More

We are traveling cross country and finally made it to the west coast from Cincinnati Ohio. I found this hotel from trip finder and it is also on our Choice Family rewards card. The cost was $89 + tax and well worth it. It's not the most expensive hotel we stayed in but 1 of the best! We asked which... More

Comfort Inn in Salinas, CA, is kept immaculate! The staff is fantastic! Front desk at check in provided great recomendations for the area. Do not miss the italian recommendaion. It is unbeliveable and you will need a take-home box. Make sure the amount on checkin is the same as the amount at checkout....mine was not. Manager said my rewards member... More

This hotel calls itself a 4 Star accommodation. It would be lucky to get a 1 Star from me. We booked a non-smoking room. Our room smelled so strongly of smoke, that we spent half of the night coughing. There was a cockroach in our room, also. There was no manager to whom to complain and so we were told... More

The rating above is for the property itself, which I'd describe as a standard motel with a half-decent pool. The service, unfortunately, is much worse, and deserves less than one star. I was overcharged by almost half the price of my stay for allegedly "stinking up the room with smoke." Maybe that had something to do with why the room... More

Dear Guest, As per hotel policy, we explain to guests of our no smoking policy in non-smoking rooms. If you would like to smoke, please kindly request smoking rooms as we do have some available at our property. The no smoking policy is enforced strictly so that the room is always a non-smoking room. It is important to us that... More

Website advertises rooms at $89; we got there after midnight, parking lot NOT full, and they told us $98, but came down so we wouldn't leave. Though clean, the room was shoe-box size and the tv had 'No Signal', so no news or entertainment. There were only two outlets to charge devices, and one was ready to come out of... More

We were heading home from a 2 week trip to AZ and had planned to spend the night in Gilroy. I nearly always make reservations in advance, but we weren't quite sure what days we would be heading home, so decided to just call ahead the day of our arrival. We stopped in Salinas to call a hotel in Gilroy.... More

Much better choices out there. Rooms are small, everything feels dirty and in need of maintenance. Fitness center is gross and the machines don't work. They even cable the iron to the ironing board and the hair dryer to the wall. Makes you wonder how safe it is to leave anything personal there for any amount of time.

Stayed for an overnight as we traveled south. Pros: Heated indoor pool that my kids loved was very clean. Courteous front desk staff. Convenient to Highway 101. Clean room. Gas stations very close. Fridge in the room. Cons: Small room- OK As we were just overnight. Food nearby is all fast food. If you want something else get in the... More
