I read the reviews and decided to stay here despite some negative ones because I'm not picky--I just wanted a cheap place to sleep, and it was exactly what I had expected. I got a room with a private bathroom, though now I wish I hadn't because the toilet didn't work, so I ended up using the public toilets anyway,... More

This hotel is old, and the outside appearance may not be perfect. However I had a great stay in a very comfortable room at this hotel for a whole week. I just recently was hired as a teacher in the Salinas area and had to move about 600 miles in a very short time with little money to accomplish the... More

My friend and I needed a place to stay in the Salinas Monterey area. At first we were skeptical because it has mixed reviews, but we were completely satisfied. Our room had a private bathroom (not all rooms do). The room and bathroom were really clean, fresh and comfortable. We checked out the public bathroom, and it was just as... More

The hotel is a very nice place in the middle of the city of Salinas. The main street is a few steps away, with restaurants, movies,... The hotel is not luxorious, but it has everything you need. The prices are really resonable, even during events in the city. The staff was very friendly and helpful. For uncomplicated travelers this is... More

Let me start by saying that I'm not an overly picky traveller. I'm okay with almost everything, but I hate being fooled. If this 'hotel' was $15.00/night, I'd say it was okay, but we paid $62.00 (sic!) for a night in the most awful hole I've ever seen in my life and believe me, I've been to some places and... More

If you're ok with unsafe, drug using, foul smelling environment you have found your paradise away from home! While this place is ok with some people, for me it was horrific. The aroma of that placed lingered well into the night after we refused to stay in the establishment. We asked to cancel our reservation after seeing our room and... More

I went to salinas to visit a friend we were walking around downtown when we saw this hotel we decided to stay last minute for girls night out and shopping. The hotel is really old which is why I was attracted to it, its very clean and the gentlemen that works at the counter is very nice and accomadating! They... More

Last hotel left with rooms available...now I know why. Exterior had the Bates Motel feel to it. The exterior paint is peeling, you can see broken windows from the outside, who would want to stay in a place that looks like that from the outside?? At least the lobby seemed a little friendlier in decor. Kevin, the manager who stays... More

I booked this hotel only knowing that it was in Salinas. when I got there I was taken back by its exterior shabbyness but once I went in I loved how vintage it was it was very clean and yes the floor creeked and the window was a little cracked but its a 100 year old building. We had plenty... More
