We've just returned from a two night stay at the Vineyard Country Inn, a place we had never tried on any of our wine country trips, though friends had often recommended it. This time we were part of a large group which required 7 rooms. The Inn accommodated our party with ground floor rooms, which we greatly appreciated. The Inn... more

My fiance treated me to this lovely bed and breakfast suite on my 21st birthday for three nights. It is a refreshing country property. Very quaint and in the heart of wine country. I felt at home and the grounds are beautiful w/ private patios and cute walkways A little pricey, but you are in St Helena. It was a... more

The property was well maintained and the location was excellent for wine touring. However, the Inn is on a heavily traveled road. Be sure to ask for a cottage farthest way from the road. The traffic stays heavy from 5am to 11pm. Our cottage also had a problem with smoke from the fireplace from the minute we walked in. We... more

The owner, Ortwin, was very rude and disrespectful. I would not return to the Vineyard Country Inn. You can get much better customer service nearby at the Harvest Inn. more

Stayed here for three nights on a vacation to California. It was very close to most of the wineries we wanted to visit and great restaurants in St. Helena, i.e. Martini House and Mustards Grill. I thought the rooms were pretty nice, not my taste in decorating. We stayed in an upstairs room (so you do not have the noise... more

Read all the reviews on Tripadvisor first and was a little nervous based upon the last review. I have to say I respectly disagree with the general assessment of the property. My wife and I really like it and thought it was a strong above average stay. Not 5 star luxury but I healthy 4 star inn and very good... more

After reading reviews, I was careful to request a room in the back so as to avoid noise. Upon checking in, we were led to a room right on the road; when I objected, I was told that nothing else was available. When I said I had requested a room at the back, the receptionist said, "This is the back,... more

We stayed here on a whim. We were not enjoying our stay in Tahoe so we left early and took a detour to Saint Helena on our way to San Francisco. As it was off season we took a suite/cottage for $170 or about £100. The living area and bedroom were lovely and the log fire was a welcome touch... more

I should have known. The website for this "inn" references other sister properties - all of which were motels. This was simply a high end motel. Overpriced at $300 a night, the complimentary bottle of wine had turned to vinegar. The bed was average, the furniture was old & well worn. Breakfast was terrible - a contintenal style with just... more

We thought the inn was beautiful and easy to find. The breakfast is wonderful and the fireplaces are very cozy. We liked the charm, but were very disappointed that the swimming pool and spa were closed for 24 hours during our two day stay. We were so looking forward to a dip because it was so hot and were crushed... more
