I've traveled the west coast on business for 10 years and prefer to stay at the economy hotels, such as Motel 6, Days Inn, Econolodge, etc. I tried Vagabond for the first time. Everything worked, everything was clean. No complaints. The building's style was very 1960s, but I happen to love that era. A (very) minor quibble was the latenight tooting... More

I was pleasantly surprised! After reading some of the other reviews, I was a little skeptical. But, I did find one dated the end of 2011, which gave a pretty good review. Upon arrival we found the lobby and staff to be pleasant. The staff was very friendly and helpful throughout our stay. We checked in early with no problems... More

We arrived by train midday and we were picked up by the shuttle. The station is across the street from the Inn but with luggage and traffic it was nice to have the ride. The inn is clean, the staff is friendly and helpful, and the breakfast was delicious with lots of variety. The Vagabond is only a block from... More

2/16_18/2012. Arrived after midnight by train. Station is across the street from the Vagabond Inn - very convenient. Hotel is clean and well maintained. Very reasonable when compared with other big name hotels in the vicinity. Free parking, which is rare in the area. Also free wireless wifi in room. Good free breakfast included. Not fancy, but a good bargain.... More

I stayed here in early February while attending a volleyball competition at the Sacramento Convention Center. It is a good location right off the freeway and only a short walking distance to Old Town Sacramento and the K street mall. While it is several blocks to the convention center, one could walk there as well if the weather is nice.... More

We stayed at this hotel and found the location very convenient right in Old Town Sacramento. There was no problem with the room: it was well equipped and the bed was comfortable. We found the noise level extremely disturbing, as there was road repair going on virtually all night long.(We fashioned some ear plugs, and we were tired out after a... Please accept my apology for the problems you encountered at our inn. They have been working to move tracks at the amtrak station . I wasn't aware it went on all night. We do our best to keep the elevator clear but sometimes they do get in the elevator. Again please accept my apology Manager. More

We just returned from a lovely stay at this hotel. For the money, this is the way to go. Free parking, great breakfast, great location and great staff, we were greeted by helpful smiles by all staff at this hotel. A Starbucks is across the street, next to the train station, save a dollar on parking and walk across to... More

This hotel is an excellent choice if you are just interested in a clean and convenient place to stay in Sacramento. I had a morning meeting in the city and came in the night before. Clean room, adequate size, no frills but everything worked. There is some road and train noise but being a heavy sleeper it did not bother... More

It is what it is....Inexpensive but very close to Old Sacramento...walking distance. The rooms are outdated, but there is a pool and hot tub. Plus Denny's is right next door, which is great for late night (after 2 am) eating. Close to the freeway and the airport is about 10 miles away. Great pit stop. More
