This hotel is a paddlewheel boat that took travelers from San Francisco to Sacramento (and back) during the 1920s and 1930s, until trains and cars became much faster than boat. It's been restored and docked at the edge of Old Downtown Sacramento, which itself is a restored tourist area of beautifully painted Victorian buildings and wide wood sidewalks. The Delta... More

We stayed two nights on the Delta King and it was a great experience. We parked our car with their valet service for $22 a night and didn't need the car until we left for San Francisco because everything is walking distance. Old town with its shops and restaurants were right off the boat. We also walked to the State... More

This was the perfect weekend getaway on a boat that made it seems like a million miles away and yet the town of Old Sacramento is right outside your door. It ambiance was old-fashioned and the food was great. Enjoyed it so much that I went back two more times for a long weekend.

I stayed two nights in this hotel and checked out earlier than planned. I got a very tiny room in the third floor, there was no space in the bathroom to place anything but the tooth brush. No outlet for the hair dryer in the bathroom either, you have to use the one close to a window where there is... More

This is a unique hotel on a river boat conveniently located next to "Old Sac." The rooms are clean and have character, but are small and noisy. If you are anywhere near the bar or where people congregate and talk outside you will not be able to sleep without ear plugs. If anyone is getting frisky in the rooms around... More

We spent one night on the Delta King as part as a whirlwind trip to Sacramento (driving from Southern California on Saturday and back home on Sunday). The former riverboat is parked in the Sacramento River the heart of Old Town Sacramento, which makes it quite convenient to check out the shopping and dining. When we got to our room,... More

This is probably not the flashiest hotel in Sacramento. But staying on the Delta King is all about the experience. Where else do you get to sleep on an authentic paddle steamer. Don't get me wrong, this is still a really nice hotel. The rooms might be a little small (as you would expect on a boat) but they are... More

Noisy! Hard to sleep, sounded like helicopter hovering directly over room (top deck, corner room). Upon arrival to dining room at 9:50am for the free breakfast (Breakfast served til 10:00am according to our vouchers) we were told breakfast was over. Huh? As we were obviously confused since it wasn't 10:00 yet, the server explained that all clocks on the boat... More

Rooms are small as you would expect on a boat. Restaurant views of the river are great. Very serene and nice restaurant to relax. Bathroom floors have very old tile and the shower is very dated and old. Bathrooms could use an update. Great location by the historic shops. Loved walking around the area. Front desk staff provides excellent service.

We went to Sacramento to visit the California Railroad museum (fabulous) and this was an excellent place to stay. The Delta King is permanently moored on the Sacramento River in Olde Town and is within easy walking distance to the museum. Since I had previously sailed on the Delta Queen and then stayed aboard her at her permanent berth in... More
