This turned out to be an quirky but excellent choice. Of course there are no doubt some very good hotels in Sacramento but how many are moored on the river and have some real history attached to them. First the details. We elected to use valet parking as we didn't want the hassle of trying to find public parking and... More

The Sacramento International Film Festival recommended this place. And since I heard from almost anyone that has been to Sac that there is nothing there, I decided to stay at the boat. Because this is an unusual hotel, this place doesn't have the perks that one is accustom, like room service, spa, gym, or good Wi-Fi. Rooms are very small,... More

We stayed here on our N. California 25th wedding anniversary trip. It was different and cute. While we were comfortable in our room, a little more attention could have been paid to dusting some cobwebs down. At times it was loud since we were facing the town side, not the river. Breakfast was great and we even got to see... More

While on an 8 state, 2 country road trip we had the opportunity to stay on the Delta King, a converted paddle wheel river boat. The only thing wrong was we only had one night. It was a delightful stay and wish it could have been longer. Romantic setting, beautiful views and surroundings, and lots of places to sightsee. The... More

We've stayed here twice. We love the slanted, old staterooms and we enjoy imagining a bygone era when such cramped (but nice) quarters were considered luxurious. This is not a place for those used to modern hotels (though the Delta King is no dump); but it is quirky and may require a willingness to submit to the experience. As an... More

We just celebrated our 32 anniversary on July 3rd and stayed at the Delta King. This is step into the past ,paying homage to the glory days when the big ships ruled the Sacramento River. Now she rests quietly, beckoning young and old to come explore ,admire and appreciate an evening in an important part of California's history .The rooms are... The Delta King has so much character and is lovingly maintained. Note that rooms vary in shapes and sizes so its worth making sure you get one you like. Also, Sacramento can get quite hot during the summer and the AC has trouble keeping up. The front desk and restaurant staff were excellent, and the bar staff was very good... More

It was our first time staying at the Delta king. It was a very enjoyable stay. They have a restaurant and host a variety of functions, as well. Since it is located in old Sacramento, it is in walking distance of many attractions. We were visiting our daughter, and taking in a river cat's game. I would definitely recommend it.... More

When we arrived at the front desk to check in, I thought it was going to be a good experience, the guy seemed friendly, but after a few minutes the gentleman checking us in could not remember what he was doing or what room he was putting us in. We agreed on a room, he made the keys and we... More

My husband and I walked into the Delta King to ask about pricing for a last minute getaway. The desk agent was so amazing and kind and helped us out with a great deal (better than online!), we had an amazing stay, and loved the quaint atmosphere of staying on an old paddle boat. The next morning we had breakfast... More
