I bought a night at this hotel from Sky Auction. I expected a medium-grade hotel. Wow, was I surprised. The employees were all outstanding. The room was decorated with unique political decor from the Ronald Reagan, Governor era. The furnishings were nice and the place was clean, and a big step up from what I expected. It appears to be... I spent two nights at The Citizen on a work trip in November. I loved staying here and will definitely return whenever I need to stay in Sacramento. The location is terrific if you need to be near the Capitol Building. The building is beautifully renovated. A real historic gem. My room was cozy, but very comfortable. I loved the... More

Beautiful hotel walking distance to the capital. Great restaurant, treated my kids like angels. Great value, great experience. Kids loved the chess board in the library. Bathrooms could use more light, but that is my only complaint.

My sweetheart surprised me with dinner and night at the Citizen Hotel. Had eaten at The Grange [Restaurant] before and was happy to have the chance to stay here as well because I had heard great things. It was a short but nice stay, very quiet, bed and pillows were comfortable. Room was small but enough room for a business... More

This was my first trip to Sacramento, and I couldn't have been more pleased with The Citizen. It was a terrific location (right near the Capitol) that had a historic vibe with all the amenities of a modern hotel. The staff was terrific, as was the hotel's impressive restaurant (The Grange). The rooms were small, but very comfortable with lots... More

We stayed here recently after finding a great deal on Priceline. It would have been worth the money at 3 times what we paid. First of all the bathroom was huge and elegantly appointed. Two sinks with ample counter space, large closet, nice linens, etc. The bed was incredible. Room has a mac (computer) in it. Well located power outlets,... More

This was a nice surprise on route to SOCAL. We mainly stayed because they took dogs at it was a convenient stopping point. It looked nice online. We stayed in a 1bedroom suite on the 14th floor which was very nice. Everyone said the rooms were small but this suite was a good size and nicely done. They have paid... More

Loved staying here. We stayed here on our anniversary. Very cool rooms. Great views. Nicely appointed, upscale feel. Food in the restaurant downstairs was outstanding as well.

I visit this hotel at least twice a quarter and everytime I am impressed. Not only is their service excellent but the accommodations are great as well. It has a great vintage vibe with updated annenities. I would recommend to anyone.
