I don't understand the price. Room was $179 room so small hard for 2 people to move around. Internet $9.95 for each day, $25 for parking and very noisy. Stayed at the Hyatt Regency 2 blocks away for same price got a room with 2 beds, free internet, free parking and a great pool! Would never recommend this place to... More

The rooms are on the small side, but you are in downtown so it's expected. The rooms were very clean, and the decor was trendy and modern! The shower was huggeee, and the art work was very quirky! The only gripe I had with this place is the fact that Wifi wasn't complimentary. That's pretty standard now in most of... More

We only stayed one night in the Citizen after a long flight from the East Coast. Any time we travel, one of our top options is to find a great historic hotel that has been renovated to some extent. The Citizen is a classic example of our favorite style. It is located adjacent to a nice park right in the... More

While Sacramento is not a particularly great city for hotels, the Citizen is, in my estimation, well suited to the capital city of California -- like the politicians that inhabit the town, it is a remodeled old building that just does not make it. The suite which we had was drab, noisy and not well appointed. The saving grace (if... More

We stayed here for one night in June for a wedding in Capitol park. The room was very small, clean and the bed was good. Before we had checked in we had requested the type of room we wanted and of the utmost importance was a quiet room. For some reason we got the exact opposite, we were in a... More

So I stayed here because my employer picked it out during a recent conference at the conference center. It's only 3 blocks walking distance but it's 3 blocks of looking over your shoulder, not that I have anything against the homeless, but there were a couple that did yell at me from across the street. the hotel room itself is... This is a beautiful hotel in a renovated office building with art deco touches. Very comfortable with great service by all staff. Grange restaurant is expensive, but the food is great! The area around the hotel is a bit run down, but doesn't appear unsafe. Nice farmers market in the park across the street.

We stayed at this hotel 3 nights with our 21 months daughter. It is a beautiful hotel with amazing personnel. Very friendly staff which make our stay pleasant. The room we stayed was a little bit small, however the bathroom was big and beautiful. The hotel has character and we will recommend it to our friends.

I was in Sacramento for four days. The staff were exceptional !!!!! Cristen was quick to greet with a smile, and very courteous and friendly. She went out of her way to help me feel welcomed. The hotel's theme is unique, interesting, and decorative. The restaurant staff were soooo friendly and quick to greet guests. The service is genuinely friendly... More

As always, the Citizen did not disappoint. It was a great get-away and a fantastic stay. The service is unparalleled. Most importantly....a great bed! The room was quiet, and despite the signs for a wedding, I'm pretty sure we were the only guests there. Don't miss breakfast in Grange, the food is amazing.
