Awesome mansion. Perfect location. Front desk people really helpful. Great dorms and even better bathrooms. Amazing kitchen with everything you need, laundry room (really cheap: USD2,50 with soap), game room, tv and a good selection of movies, great breakfast. No complains what so ever. Seriously you should stay here.

We had a comfortable stay, like we're used to from any HI hostel. The only downside is of this hostel; there are no mixed dorms! I like dorms. That's how you meet fellow travellers while on the road. It's old fashion. It's 2013. People travel in mixed groups. So we had to stay in a private room. Our room was... More

I had the pleasure of staying 6 in nights in this excellent hostel. It's an amazing 100yo+ former mansion, well maintained, spacious & clean. The staff were all friendly & the guests a mix of ages & nationalities. This is definitely not a party hostel. The location is in the business district of Sacramento city. It's convenient yet boring as... More

I stayed at this hostel for 3 nights. It is a beautiful old mansion with high ceilings and huge rooms. It gives you a special feeling to stay in such a house. The staff was really friendly and wasn't shy of helping you to find out where to go and what to do. The room I stayed in was clean... More

I've stayed here a couple of times now and each visit has been very pleasant! It's an awesome old building...from the outside it looks like a haunted house! But don't worry it's lovely and cosy on the inside! I've stayed in the dorms which are your standard but good quality rooms And ive stayed in the private rooms which are... More

The only thing that I regret now is that I spent there only 1 night! It's the best hostel I have ever seen and I'm wondering why it's not classified as a hotel. It was the first offer that popped up on the Internet and the moment I saw it I fell in love with it. Before our arrival, we... More

I've stayed in quite a few HI hostels and this is definitely one of the best. The building is absolutely lovely - a Victorian mansion with most of its original features retained. The lounge/common areas, with their high ceilings, mahogany fireplaces and big comfy chairs, are particularly enjoyable to work or relax in. I stayed at HI Sacramento for three... More

Very nice venue for a wedding! The building is so cool and has so much history. We came here for a wedding but would certainly stay the night here if I needed to. Many of the wedding guests did stay the night but we live locally so did need to. The hostel has a basement with a kids room and... More

I stayed here one week while visiting my daughter who lives in a small apartment about 8blocks away . Enjoyed walking there every morning, stopping for coffee at the insight cafe. The rooms upstairs were large and inviting, but I wanted an ensuite so that happened to be in the basement. The room was spacious , but not attractive and... More

I booked a one-night at the HI Sacramento. The hostel is in an excellent location, convenient to the AMTRAK/Bus stations and downtown. They have a one-time rate if you aren't a member of Hostels International, but it's pretty cheap. I arrived late but had called ahead and was quickly let in, checked in, and found my room. The room was... More
