I had high hopes for this place, even though we rented out the last available cabin and it was quite small (~200 sq. ft) for $140. The setting of the property is beautiful, especially when covered in snow. Where things fell apart was when the 'original' gas furnace quit working at bedtime. Knowing a fair amount about HVAC, I opened... More

I have a daughter that had worked for Susa and Gary, she no longer works for them they are both drunks and don't care about their guest in any way. They leave the storage door open where all the sheets and bedding is and the cats on the property lay all over the clean sheets and so due to that... More

I absolutely loved staying at Giant Oaks. It was clean, quiet, and clearly the owners take pride in their property. I've stayed in many places from Lake Arrowhead to Big Bear and this one, by far, is my favorite. The location is excellent! Running Springs is located in middle of Lake Arrowhead and Big Bear so we were able to... More

I stayed recently at the Giant Oaks Lodge, and while apprehensive at first in what appeared to be a limited option market, my doubts were quickly dispelled. On arrival to the hotel, when I informed the lady at the desk I was suffering a knee injury, she immediately changed my room to a more accessible one so I would not... More

We arrived late and very tired after a long drive. Got a very friendly welcome plus a discount on the room although we probably would have taken it for much higher price aswell, because we were pretty exhausted. The room was lovely, clean and well equiped with fridge, wifi, coffee machine, hairdryer and nice and clean bathroom. Very recommendable and... More

I worked for this place for only two weeks, and fired. I believe I was fired due to my consistent nagging about Susa and Gary having to make certain repairs, and keeping the blankets clean. DO NOT ever use the blankets, or dust covers to sleep. They do not clean them for months at a time. The only thing we... More

Was a last minute getaway without a place to stay we stopped in at the Fireside Cocktails we asked if there was a nearby hotel and they recommended Giant Oak Lodge. Very reasonably priced very outgoing and friendly service. Beautifully kept property, was very impressed with the cabin 104 that we stayed in. The indoor and pool and spa were... More

My wife and I arrived late at our friends house to find that he had a power out problem that left him with no heating or electricity to his house. He tried a few places but at 11pm Running Springs is closed. Luckily for us Susa (the owner of giant Oaks) opened the reception door and sleepy but pleasantly saved... More

We are a family of five and recently spent the night in room #107. Staff was incredibly kind and friendly, and the rooms were clean and presentable. The only reason why I cannot give this place a higher rating is simply based on price. $179 for a room of this size, with no "real" entry seems out of place for... More
