first time staying at a Howard Johnson express I didn't expect anything really good at this hotel. but the room was great. we had a suite with king size bed. The price for the room was good too. The free breakfast was ok. not too much to decide what to eat. We did want a room next to other family... more

My husband and I were visiting relatives in the area and were planning to stay for five nights. We ended up adding two additional nights and were extended the same low price that we had originally booked the room for. We usually stay at the Hilton Garden Inn which is nearby; however, we thought we would try Howard Johnson's for... more

Decent Hotel for your money. Room was clean and beds were comfy. Pillows were tiny tough and not so comfy, so bring your own if you can. Air conditioner was very loud so bring ear plugs. Despite this, still a decent hotel. Staff was very friendly and helpful. Breakfast was included and not bad. They make scrambled eggs and waffles... more

We booked this hotel using a group rate that had been secured from a good many folks who were in town to attend a 3000 plus event. When I get a discount rate I expect to get the same room as everyone else at a discounted rate. In this case that was not true. The lobby staff were to the... more

First of all the front desk is completely clueless and the general manager is even worse. Any question I had for the front desk required them to consult the general manager who was rude, didnt speak english very well and it was obviouse he was put in his position as a last resort. I travel frequently and meet different types... more

We had to stay at the Howard Johnsons for a few nights in between moving to rocklin, CA, from Texas. Overall, I think we had a great time staying there. It was quiet, the staff was nice and very helpfull, the internet worked well, there was always newspapers and fruit available in the lobby AND the free breakfast ( omletes)... more

We checked in a little late at night and were given room 113, just off the lobby. The first thing we noticed was a smell every time we opened the door, sort of like stale cigarette and mildew, but decided we could live with that. Then we noticed a smell (mold or something) by the window (a/c?) and decided we... more

The rooms were clean and spacious. Beds were kind of hard, and the sheets scratcy. But, I choose this motel because it served breakfast and I was pretty disappointed in that. I hate styrofoam cups. No real coffee mugs, no half & half, fake buttter, paper plates and plastic cutlery, those funky little plastic wrapped pastries. Basically kind of chinzy.... more

What a great place to stay! We travel between northern and southern California and it is the perfect place to stop and rest on our way home. Best value for the $$ we have found. Nice rooms, great prices, great appetizers in the evening and nice breakfast in the morning before our getaway for home. Vito, the desk manager is... more

Great service. The rooms are spacious and in excellent condition. The lobby has a large screen TV but the best part was the made to order omlettes and waffles in the lobby. Highly recommend! more
