We were aware of this property as we had stayed in Redondo Beach previously. This was a wonderful experience. The room was huge, even the room facing the marina. There was a separate area with a desk, and the bathroom/dressing room area was huge. Staff was very helpful and pleasant. Valet was relatively quick. We did a priceline offer for this hotel, so it was an incredible value. More

I was in this hotel for one night as a final night of a recent trip to the Los Angeles area. This was a priceline stay, so I knew nothing about the hotel prior to my visit. First the good. The hotel is in a really beautiful location, and also quite convenient to local beaches and other attractions. The staff were also quite friendly and helpful, and the room was clean and comfortable. There were... More

Travelzoo offered the Hotel Portofino at a discount on my husband's birthday. We arrived on Saturday night around sunset and were delighted, not only by the lovely marina surroundings, but by the beautiful hotel. Walking in, we felt as if we'd been transported to Maui but the decor is more Nantucket. The staff was friendly and knowledgeable. The room was the perfect combination of lush and cozy, complete with every appointment one could wish for.... More

We got a coupon through TRAVEL ZOO so we decided to try it...We are local but wanted a little romantic get away..It was perfect! we arrived early(not expecting our room to be ready..we were planning on using their Cruisers and go for a bike ride along the beach)....Our room WAS ready AND they upgraded us to the oceanside of the hotel. The Staff was wonderful, kind and professional...We felt very comfortable there. The restaurant(spendy) but... More

The hotel was beautiful and had a friendly staff. Our room was comfortable and the staff was helpful and pleasant. We were disappointed with the bar service. We wanted to have drinks Saturday night and there were many empty, dirty tables. And the bartender was swamped and mostly unavailable. We sat around for about 20 minutes and when I went to the front desk to ask for service, she curtly told me to go to... More

My husbands pair of $120 Chacos were stolen while we stayed there. The hotel management claims that it must've been the next guest in the room.... Seriously.. Also, we tried to order a bottle of wine at the bar, 20 minutes later the bartender returns with no wine, says the menu we looked at must not be up to date, so he gave us another menu, another 20 minutes later (he had to go down... Great stay, free bikes to ride the strand. Location is perfect. As per the reviews the walls are thin. Enjoyed the stay. Everyone friendly and helpful More

I used to stay at the Ritz Carleton,Marina del Rey but now will only stay at the Portofino! This is a really nice hotel with incredible staff who go out of their way to be pleasant and helpful to their guests. I had a room facing the ocean and more importantly the entrance to the marina and harbor. Every morning at 8:30 or so a school of porpoises came into the harbor and fished outside... More

Really pretty, comfortable hotel. We were upgraded to ocean front which had a nice balcony with quiet peaceful view. Unfortunately we had a screaming fighting couple next door who were very loud at midnight. We let the front desk know, as we were concerned for his or her safety. We finally fell asleep and what was worse was a screaming infant which kept us up from 3am until 5am...at this point we got up. The... More

The hotel is located in a very nice area around the marinas. Rooms with two doubles are much smallers than king rooms. The reception is very nice and my only complain was the breakfast serve in a different place. Save your money and go to another place for breakfast, service is also poor apart from the food...Very nice pool area. More
