This is a nice campground for those with tents and also those with RVs. I was in space #3 and it was a good location. Some of the parking spots are tight if you have a big RV. For example, space #1 was very tight and not easy to maneuver a big travel trailer. The electricity and water hook ups... More

We were looking for a local park to try out our new RV. This park is very nice. Beautiful old oak trees, well maintained facilities, mostly level spaces, very friendly staff. We were there mid week when the park was virtually vacant so it was very quiet. I'm sure it is crazy during the summer and on weekends but we... More

Overall we had a nice stay and the camp ground was reasonably quiet until the loud Native American drumming and chanting started Saturday night around 10 pm at a house next to the park. It went continuously all night until about 8 am the next morning. We had read a similar review but thought it was probably a rare occurrence.... More

We’ve camped here many times and have never been disappointed. This time we stayed a week, as our niece was married in this park at the wedding gazebo. Wonderfully romantic location and the rangers did everything they could to make sure the event went smoothly. Both the brides aunts and uncles camped on location. This place is near the town... Campground itself is nice, but the neighbors made our stay unbearable. Tent and trailer sites 54, 55, 57 and surrounding were subjected to non-stop blaring loud country music played from outside speakers pointed directly at the campground (to spite campers) from 3 to 10:30 PM on a Saturday. When I complained at the ranger station at 6 pm (the music... More

We just returned from two nights in a small RV at Dos Picos County Park-so close, yet so far away. It took us less than an hour to get there, but it seemed very isolated from the metro area. The Rangers, and other reviewers, explain that it is very busy on the weekends, especially with families, but we spent Monday... More

As a long time RV Camper who has traveled to eight states and 15 National Parks in the last five years, I have had the opportunity to see many beautiful RV campsites and a few that are not so great. Dos Picos is one of the beautiful ones. Its mature trees cover the entire campsite for complete shade in the... More

We love this campground! Close to home but mentally far away. Space 3&4 are our favorites as we have a 'teardrop' trailer and it's easy to set up our screenroom on those sites. There can be a TON of kids on the weekends, and twice we've been overtaken by Boy Scout troups, with mixed results. (Do parents teach kids that... More

Overall camp is well maintained with one exception. Trees/brush need to be trimmed back just beyond space #46 (a one-way road) and just prior to the RV dump station. We now have many scratches in the top/sides of our new class A RV ( we are not a wide-body; we are 101" wide for the coach body). This is the... More

Dos Picos is a very clean, quiet campground. Rangers do heavily enforce the helmet rules for children. This is for any wheeled bike, scooter, tricycle and even big wheels! They have loaner helmets available if you forget them. They are friendly about it.
