Nestled among the mountains in the backcountry , with beautifully maintained rooms, fully stocked kitchens, and attentive staff, Riviera Oaks is a hidden treasure...a close drive to the beauty of the San Diego mountains ...much to do here, horsebackriding, tennis, hiking, with a spa and all amenities.........I stayed here for a week and fell in love with the man who... more

My wife and I stayed at Riviera Oaks last week in May. Our impression of the resort itself was very favorable. We happened to get a 2 bedroom, two bathroom suite, which was very spacious. The living room area had a fireplace (which we didn't use, but the ambience was nice), and the kitchen was well stocked with dishware and... more

Riviera Oaks is nothing more than a converted apartment complex, and looks like it. We are Monarch Grand Vacations owners and have used our membership at other Monarch Grand properties, but this was our first visit to this property. We were very disappointed - it is nothing more than a converted 60's apartment complex squeezed on a sliver of land... more

Stayed here July 4th week last year. Traded our timeshare through Interval with the intention of seeing the San Diego area. Although this hotel is pretty remote, our family had a car and we enjoyed having to drive into San Diego and other surrounding towns because it forced us to see more of the county. We are used to driving... more

As a local San Diegan, I did not even know that Riviera Oaks existed. I came with a group of women for a retreat. It was exactly what we were looking for. The accommodations were nice, clean and well cared for, and we enjoyed the location immensely. If what you're looking for is a quiet "get away." This resort will... more

We stayed here fully aware that there was a 45-60 minute commute to San Diego, but we didn't know how remote the place actually was. There's nothing around this "resort," which looks more like an old apartment complex converted into a hotel. The room was average, but looked more like a furnished apartment, without any real resort feel to it.... more

This is a very well maintained resort in the hills northeast of San Diego. Because of the hilly terrain, driving to other locations can be a bit slow. We used this resort as our starting point for various day trips. Unfortunately, the primary tour operator that the resort staff referred us to was closed for the week were we there... more

RAMONA, CALIFORNIA RIVERA OAKS RESORT 8/03/07-8/10/07 'RELAXATION HIDEWAY' Just returned from a weeks stay at this wonderful resort. IF you are looking for a relaxed/laid back environment then this may be the place. On the other hand if you want to be near the hustle and bustle of San Diego then I would not suggest staying here.It takes about an... more
