We stayed two nights in the "Hop Sing" cottage. We had a full kitchen but didn't have a need to use it. This is a great place to stay for a family that wants to stay a few days and not eat out for every meal. The cottage was spotless and nicely decorated. The owner was super friendly. Wifi was... Good Morning Monica, We're so glad you enjoyed Hop Sing's cottage and your time staying with us. The dreaded AT&T is finally working and cheering is happening all around town. This was very unusual and a darn shame since we have super fast fiber optics wifi now and it usually zings along with no problem. We sure hope you come... More

My wife and I recently traveled to Quincy and had the absolute pleasure of meeting Mike and staying at Ada's Place. We stayed in the West Wing and found it to be cozy, yet spacious enough to spread out. The kitchen was stocked with all of the utensils and items we needed to make a nice dinner, but restaurants were... More

Just stumbled across a remarkable getaway in the quiet mountain town of Quincy, CA. Ada's Place is a series of detached and unique cottages that is an obvious labor of love for the gregarious and friendly owner Mike. When we arrived our cottage was having some work done so we were luckily upgraded to a beautiful oriental-themed cottage titled Hop... More

What a pleasure to meet people who appreciate and enjoy our cottages. Hop Sing's, named after an old bar tender who lived in the tiny village of LaPorte almost 100 years ago and during the gold rush era, was the inspiration for the name. With that history and the collection of other treasures from family and friends it is a... More

The combination of a convenient location; peaceful surroundings; charming decor; and friendly, helpful owners keeps us returning to Ada's Place time and again. The cottages have all of the comforts of home with none of the responsibilities. Quincy is a lovely town (don't miss the historical museum) with plenty of shops and restaurants, but it's also the heart of the... More

Oh thank you so much for taking time to write a review and most of all, enjoying the time you spend visiting us. The Plumas County Museum is one of our all time favorites too and loaded with local history and sometimes art shows of local talent. Hope to see you again and to share some laughs together again. We wanted to do a trip to Bucks Lake since we had not traveled there in about 12 years but were not sure about the weather so we decided to stay in Quincy. I found Ada's place on Trip Advisor, called Mike and made a reservation. When we arrived we were earlier than check in time but Mike allowed us... More

Oh thanks for having a great time and sharing your experience in your review. One of the high lights of having a small business is having guests who are comfortable in the cottages and feel like they can really relax and enjoy themselves. There is a sweet fishing video done by a local fellow that I posted on our Facebook... More

We loved this cute little cottage. Very cozy, clean & comfortable. It's walking distance to main st. It has a wonderful patio to sit and bask in the sunshine. They have wifi and a mini kitchen. Loved the decor! Very affordable!

Hi to you both! So glad you had a good time and fun with your family while visiting. You stayed in my favorite of the cottages and the sunniest, Ruth's Garden. I am sure you can guess why. It was so nice of you to leave a great review and we sure hope you will come back and meet up... More

This is a fabulous place to stay in a fabulous little town. (I'm biased, because I lived in Quincy for a few too-short years.) We stayed in the West Wing cottage which had everything a person could want. Not only was the cottage very spacious, but there was a small front porch, great for morning coffee while looking at a... We had been traveling for 10 days, hiking in CA, changing locations every couple of days. We were tired, dirty, had blisters on our feet and needed a rest. What a blessing Ada's Place was. Our second time staying with Mike and Valerie was as good as the first. Two years later, the property is in the same excellent condition and they were equally accommodating. The location is perfect as you can walk to downtown but very quiet. Can't recommend any more strongly.

Living small never felt so delicious. At Ada's Place, small cottages are spacious and inviting. Lush gardens, porches and decks sooth your spirit. You'll be saying, "I could live here!" A peaceful drive along two-lane scenic roads through Plumas County brings you to this rainbow's end. The cottages are darling. Four cottages - each with its own personality. Wonderfully appointed...
