I had been in Portola for work before and really wasn't sure where to stay. I decided to give the Pullman House Inn a try. It's a wonderful B&B. Jan, the owner, is very nice and accommodating. It's a very cozy, homey atmosphere and the bed and shower are awesome. I highly recommend staying here if you are in the... More

These days on a long road trip when I am primarily camping, I like to break it up with a stay in a nice place every few days. I was very pleased that I chose to stay here. As others have noted, the rooms are small and not what I would call luxurious, but certainly amply supplied, complete with creaky... More

We came here to explore the area and do some hiking and kayaking. It is close to the Lakes Basin area, Davis lake and Frenchman lake. We stayed three nights and want to plan a time to come back with the bikes. I talked with the owner on the phone who gave me information and also ideas on other places... More

Lovely couple welcomed us, and we love old places to stay. Comfy bed, cute decor. Can't really call it a b&b, since we made our own breakfast. But we had fun and if you are on a budget worth the visit. Cheers

Found this lovely little B&B decorated in a railroad theme in the small town of Portola. Rail buffs will appreciate the location right next to the track. The home has a deck facing the rail yard and you can watch the UP change crews. We had an upstairs room with both a King and a Queen and a private bath.... More

This inn has a railroad theme which matches perfectly with the Western Pacific Railroad Museum that is minutes away-- train tracks also run right along the property. If you are a train buff at all this is the perfect place---if you are not, watch out you might become one. We are train buffs and really appreciated the decor, the antiques... More

This B&B is a great spot for train lovers. It is within walking distance of the Western Pacific RR Museum, rooms overlook the UP tracks and crew changes occur here. There is only half the train movements that previously occured here as apparently only West bound trains pass thru on this line. The inn is also only a short drive... More

I was the only guest (early in season) and it was very pleasant. Nice continental breakfast. Small room but had everything needed. Personnel very helpful.
