I have had extended stays twice at this hotel. Both coinciding with the change to new ownership. The hotel rooms are indeed dated, but very clean, large and functional. They have mini kitchen and full kitchen options. The new ownership has consistently been striving to improve the facility. They have revamped the complimentary breakfast and it is higher quality food.... More

Booked the hotel for Channel island trips. The motel is located at the corner of two main streets. Called ahead to ask for a room to stay away from the streets, end up finding the balcony still facing the main street, and the front desk told me that it is not a main street. THAT IS A LIE. You will... More

Our team of 8 workers stayed at Casa Via Mar for 6 nights in the last full week of September 2014. We really enjoyed staying there and had a much better experience compared to many of the motels where we stayed this summer. On booking we were a little worried by some of the reviews, but they turned out not... More

This is a good value for location. Older hotel and rooms have not been upgraded but are fine. nice to have a fridge in room. Free WiFi, and Breakfast. We have stayed here many times and keep returning due to good location and price. Though have not used, the tennis courts look very good.

The lady at the check in desk was lovely; very warm and friendly. She gave us the best check in we had had after a 3 week tour around California. The Motel is spacious but a little dated. The rooms are large and equipt with all you need for an overnight stay. There is a Tennis club linked to the... More

I bid on this "motel" through Priceline and was very disappointed over all. The front desk clerk was rude and very unhelpful. They post on their website that there is air-conditioning there was no air conditioning in my room only an oscillating fan. The Decour is something out of the 70s with orange countertops rust carpet and polyester bedspreads. The... More

We were very impressed with this hotel. It's super clean, and the rooms are huge and comfortable. The grounds, including the tennis courts and pool area, were very well-kept. The breakfast is very nice and more like a small restaurant than a motel community room. There is also a small Mexican restaurant next door if you don't feel like leaving... More

The porpoise of this hotel was only to sleep, it was strategically chosen because it had a low price and was on the way to LA, where we were going to take our flight back home. The check in time was at 14:00, we arrived at 17:00, no problems until there, we made our check in, we asked for a... More

Although the room was clean and had character, the service was so poor that it brought the value of staying here way down. When we arrived, the woman working at the front desk did not greet us, make eye contact or even look up from the computer for an awkwardly long time. Before she even acknowledged us, she was complaining... More

While the price was decent, you also get very little for your bucks. On the plus side the king bed was firm (the way I like it) and you were given sufficient towels, tolietries, etc., plus there was a better than average free breakfast. However, there is no AC (and it was hot), it is located next to two busy... More
