This is a self check-in inn a few miles off Hwy 1. While there is easy access from the highway, it still feels like you're out in the country. We stayed in the Ridge View room. The bed was firm and comfortable. There were robes in our room & also an iron and table-top ironing board. There was a bathroom... More

This was our second visit to the Black Heron Inn. Once again we loved it. The two of us alone sitting on the deck looking out at the Tomales Bay Inverness, an expansive, wide view of green rolling meadow with the bay at a distance. Later a hike over the stile took me to more expansive, green, refreshing, rolling land.... More

Tucked away in a remote part of the world, just an hour north of San Francisco, is the Black Heron Inn, located on Tomales Bay in Point Reyes Station, Ca. Just the drive alone makes it worthwhile going to this breathtaking spot. The inn has three rooms, two downstairs and one big one upstairs, which would be good for a... More

This was an absolutely lovely inn with magnificent views and fabulous sunsets! Very special, quiet, romantic, relaxing, and perfectly situated for hiking in Pt Reyes. We will certainly return for another visit.

Location: off the beaten path with distant bay views over rolling grazing lands. Short drive on dirt road. Direct access to trails in point reyes national seashore. 5 minute drive to point Reyes station. Could walk but it's a winding road with no sidewalks, a bit less than two miles one way. Service: minimal hands on service. Owners live on... More

I am writing this review while looking at a wonderful view! even though its night time! I chose the black Heron Inn for my last 2 days of our honeymoon and we will never regret it. We have been in SF for 1 week and we were ready to go home until we arrived here.!! Felt like home automatically.. This... More

I found Black Heron Inn on tripadvisor and spent one night in the Ridge View suite. The view was beautiful and it was so nice to watch the sun set from the deck. We enjoyed the hike through the pasture early in the morning and then took the short drive to Point Reyes Station for lunch. We will definitely be... More

My boyfriend and I stayed for one night in the grand view suite and had a fantastic time. The view can't be beat! The property is only a few minute drive from the small downtown of Pt. Reyes Station, and yet the inn feels so remote and private. Letting ourselves in and checking out on our own was easy and... More

Black Heron Inn is wonderful. My parents referred us and they stay frequently. Be aware that if you come when it's dark, it can be challenging to find and then find your room. Make sure you know/remember which room you booked as it is a self-service place! Fortunately, they do have sensor lights so when you walk, your lights will... More

My husband and I found this inn purely by luck and we couldn't have been happier. The upstairs grand view room was perfect with a great deck and thousands of stars. Perfect escape to the countryside. I'll be back as soon as possible!
