We stayed at the Black Heron Inn two nights. When we woke up the first morning, we saw a green heron at the pond without having to step out the door. The Inn was comfortable, quiet and had an incredible view. The innkeepers provided us with soy mile and gluten free cookies for breakfast. The bed was comfortable and the... More

We spent 4 days at the Black Heron Inn so we could explore the wildlife of the nearby Point Reyes area - sure there was plenty of birds moving through on migration and we saw the start of the Grey Whale movement as well as the odd Racoon and Tule Elk as well as Californian Sealions and Elephant Seals. This was our second time at Black Heron Inn, our first in the beautifully situated Grand View Suite. This was just what the doctor ordered -- a quiet mid-week stay in gorgeous surroundings. If you're looking for a more typical B&B experience, with shared meals and new best friends and chatty hosts, be aware that this is not for you.... More

A wonderful spot, comfortable accommodations, and great view just a minute or two from excellent restaurants in Point Reyes. Great place to base a Pt. Reyes birding outing. Especially liked the Black-crowned Night Heron rookery right on the property!

Just outside (north) of Pt Reyes Sta. a great first stop on the drive up the coast. Comfortable spaces with unobstructed views from the deck and dining area, it borders Tomales Bay Preserve. Walking trails steps away. Hosts are ready to assist or allow privacy. Convenient to everything Pt Reyes. We would stay again!

Very low key, nice room, close to everything and quiet. Not much service, breakfast is provided in the fridge upon coming-in. Had coffee, and a good selection of teas. Internet was slow, but hey you don't come here to browse, do you?

Our daughter got married in Point Reyes and we had never been there before. This Inn was quiet and off the main road. It was clean and had a nice view also. The decor is a bit dated, it could use some newer items throughout, but it was a pleasant stay! They provided some fresh fruit, 2 small breakfast breads... More

We didn't want to leave the Black Heron Inn. We could have stood on the balcony all day and night looking at the steller western view of birds, flora and fauna. We were greeted by a private note from the owners who had delivered coffee cake and fresh fruit for our morning breakfast. The room was spotless and very comfortable.... More

This was a perfect location. Off of the main road, very quiet, yet a short drive into town. Enjoyed watching deer, bobcat, wild turkeys, out side of our picture window. Close to hiking, horsebackriding, etc. Wish American had European style beds. Basically two twins pushed together, so you don't feel the other person moving. It would be nice if there... More

We spent 3 days here & hated to leave. Large deck overlooking the bay and rolling hills & we could sit in bed watching the raptors performing for us. Total quiet privacy. Breakfast supplies left in room in our arrival so it was nice to sit on the deck or at the table & watch the deer go by. Short... More
