My husband and I stayed at Coast Guard Historic B&B in the Surfmen cove for 3 nights. We had a wonderful cozy king sized bed and view of the pier and ocean. We relaxed, went to the beaches, lighthouse and up the coast to Mendocino. The fireplace was very nice in the morning to warm it up, but overall was... More

We only stayed here for two nights, but we both wish we had just stayed here for our entire vacation. The location is beautiful and quiet, a perfect place to rest and rejuvenate. We stayed in the Sunrise room and it lives up to it's name. The room is airy with lots of windows a queen size bed and a... More

On the 2nd floor (no elevator), but easy to climb staircase. Comfy built-in king bed with great bed linens and bed lamps, just right for sitting in bed reading or checking email (WiFi) with a gas-log fireplace. Sitting area with 2 chairs and a table. Large high ceiling with 2 windows facing the Pacific and 1 towards the bluff. There's... More

Had an enjoyable stay at the Coast Guard House. Pleasant spot just about 30 miles south of Mendocino. Breakfast was good. Kevin the owner has done a good job of keeping the house up to-date and cozy. Our room on the second floor was perfect. Comfortable king size bed ans newly remodeled bath.

Spent two nights here. There are not many choices for lodging in Point Arena. The only motel in town has been closed down. The Coast Guard house is located off Highway 1 just above the cove and pier. There is a restaurant a few minutes walk away and Main Street Point Arena is about a 20 minute walk. I was... More

My husband and I were on a 30 Anniversary trip to Northern Cali. This was our 1st of 3 places we were visiting. This was by far our favorite and was an outstanding Inn. It was extremely clean, simply furnished with no TVs, just a lot of peace, quiet, tranquility and a friendly atmosphere. The inn keepers were very accommodating... More

My husband and I hiked the coastal trail from the CGHI to the lighthouse. In a word - SPECTACULAR!! We've traveled to many parts of the world, and we ourselves live on the bluffs of Solana Beach (San Diego), but this coastal hike is over 12 miles of uninterrupted, unspoiled, undeveloped land/oceanscape. Mia is a great host. She provided a... More

Kevin and Mia helped us out in many ways.. they were flexible about our re-scheduling a visit (we did give them lots of notice!) and they made us two restaurant reservations. They were very good hosts... suggestions about things to do, history of the area, great full-on breakfasts and they've done a wonderful renovation job of the inn. There are... More

This is nothing like any other inn we have stayed at. The property is historic -- age is not the thing that makes it interesting (we have stayed in much older inns), but its former life as a Coast Guard life saving station was certainly unique and I got a kick out of that. We booked the Cypress Cottage on... More

Can't say enough about this place. Location, service, value, gourmet breakfast, history... you name it it is here. Their glutton free options were wonderful. The rooms are quaint and well done. Internet is an issue and AT&T is no where to be found. Just unplug and relax a couple days - it'll do you some good. Walk down to the... More
