If you like lighthouses, don't miss this one! The museum/gift shop are a nice prelude to taking the spiral staircase up to the top of the lighthouse. Be prepared to huff and puff, but it's so worth it! The view from the top is indescribable - you'll hear yourself swing "wow" a lot. So, climb, climb, climb and enjoy the... More

We took a tour of the lighthouse that was $7.50 for adults and one dollar for children. It starts in the museum. The museum is small but besides information on the light house it has great photos of the 1906 earthquake and Indian artifacts. The tour then moves to the light house and you climb 135 stairs. The view at... More

You could not pick a more authentic way to spend the night at a lighthouse than in one of the keeper's cabins. And that is what it was. Beautiful view out both the front and back windows, in the shadow of California's highest lighthouse, and furnished in a basic but nice way as we would expect a keeper's cabin to... More

We came here every 4th of July for over 10 years. It's the best kept secret on the coast but the living room furniture was uncomfortable for sitting. We stayed in the studio unit, bathroom w/ shower, aisle kitchen, eating area, satellite TV, wood burning stove and an ocean view. The new furniture in the sitting area was comfortable but... More

We were pleasantly surprised with the lovely accommodations. We've thought about doing this for a long time, and this location exceeded our expectations. Darling cottage with everything you need. Cold outside, warm inside. Beautiful surroundings, and the lovely gift shop was the best we visited on our trip.

Great location, comfortable cabins, almost clean rooms and dishes. It's for a good cause to support lighthouse maintenance. However 2 of 4 smoke alarms not working, one stove burner not working, heater in bedroom not working. FYI, Bring: Squeege to wash salt spray off windows - otherwise the view looks like impressionist painting. Bring serving bowl, pizza or baking sheet,... More

Some lighthouse guests use the keepers' quarters as a base for exploring the local area. My wife and I explored on the way in and out, but stayed parked at the lighthouse for our entire three-day stay. As advised on the lighthouse website, we bought groceries before our arrival. The kitchen was well stocked with an eclectic set of pots,... More

Every other year between Christmas and January 5, I always find the time to spend 3 nights here, Keepers Room. About the room: looking out the door you see the Tower and Museum changing colors and never ending scenery over each earth rotation; a small refrigerator for your white wine, cheese and candy for your ongoing munchies; a TV which... Diffidently an unexpected treasure. Never imagined being able to stay in a lighthouse keeper room. To have the view of a sunrise, sunset, and a lighthouse all from our porch or through the window. The price was unbelievable. If you are in the area this is a must do.

I stayed in the Keeper's Room, the one single room, while the rest are apartments. This room is wonderful for one or two people: a comfy queen size bed, small refrigerator, microwave, small TV, good wi-fi connectivity, a welcome half bottle of good wine and some chocolate. But the VERY BEST PART is the location. This room is at the... More
