Room was nice but not much from restaurants in area. Balcony was at least 15 ft long and 5 ft wide, which looks out onto the pier/wharf. Surfers were out on the water catching waves so fun to watch. The restaurant in the building in front of the inn looked like it could have been fun but was closed mid-week... More

Thank you, Art, for writing such an informative review. During the winter months, the restaurants close a day or two (mid-week). However, from spring to fall - the restaurants are quite convenient with many selective cuisines. Come back and we will be glad to recommend some great places to dine. In the meantime, Happy Travels! We had time for just a single night getaway to this charming, unique inn, which features nice rooms with faux fireplace/heaters, and includes a continental breakfast. Our room also had a view of the harbor, a private deck, a Jacuzzi tub (and nice shower). It's on a steep hill, so parking can be challenging, although we had no problems. The... More

For years we had talked of staying at that place by the Point Arena pier...but never did until just last month. And now that we've finally been, we won't wait too long to go back! For those of you who have read the grumbles of others about parking and flaking paint on the balconies, I would say this...yes the parking... More

From Hwy 1 just south of downtown Point arena you head west, west, west, and then up and up Port Drive to get to the Wharf Master's Inn. It looks like the rooms on the downhill side of the property have great views, unfortunately dogs are relegated to the uphill section, and while those rooms have nice private balconies the... More

Thank you, Steven, for taking the time to review your stay at the Wharf Master's Inn. We appreciate that it may take a little extra effort to accommodate our furry friends, but we are happy to offer that option to people travelling with their dogs. Since most of the rooms do have stairs, we are limited as to what we... More

Beautiful, one of a kind hotel. Perfect for a couples or just single retreat. Room very cozy. Just a shirt walk to ocean shore and pier. Might need a car to ride into town unless you are use to a short hike. Nice little restaurant right down the hill from the hotel. I stayed on second floor and didn't have... More

Nice quaint property that could do with some repairs & upgrades. We had a great ocean view, but the bed was literally falling apart. When you are paying $185 a night, there are certain expectations from the property. Try to get Rooms 211 or 212, awesome views.

Six of us were motorcycling from Portland Oregon to Santa Barbara, California. We had a problem with the Wharf Master parking because there was very little signage down below and the property is located up on a narrow cliff. Once we got up to the upper parking lot we found out that the reservation for one of our couples had... More

Thank you for taking the time to write such a descriptive review. Yes, it is true! We tried to accommodate to the best of our abilities. One thing to remember is that you stayed in the vintage Victorian Wharf Master's House that was built in 1865. There are definite things we plan on renovating and the items you mentioned are... It is hanging on the cliff above the old port. The views can be fantastic. Depending on the location of your room there may be many stairs to climb. If your climbing ability is limited you should definitely make that known to the inn keeper. The views can be fantastic. Parking can be challenging. If you drive around the side... More

The first thing that strikes you on arrival to this hotel's location is the tranquil, sheltered cove where it is situated on a steep hill overlooking a harbor. The scene is reminiscent of a quaint Mediterranean fishing village that you can stroll down the hill to in two minutes from your room. The rooms have their own balconies and they're... More

My girlfriend and I pulled in around 8:30 pm on a late summer night in September, tired from driving most of the day down highway.
