I am a very choosy traveller and had a good look at the reviews on Wharf Master's before choosing it. My wife an I stayed here as part of a weekend getaway to the Mendocino coast. We didn't know the area well, but knew we wanted to stay somewhere cozy by the ocean. The main draw for me was reasonable... more

This hotel was perched on the side of a hill overlooking the ocean. The rooms were very plush and clean, not to mention spacious. A great place for a romantic trip. The staff was very pleasant and helpful. The view from our balcony in the Ocean Splendor room was fantastic. With the fireplace roaring, we enjoyed a perfect stay. more

We stayed two nights and found it very enjoyable. The bathtub was huge and I thoroughly enjoyed that both nights. The only problem is Point Arena seems to close quite early and we had trouble finding a place in town for dinner. more

While the hotel looks pretty, the blond woman who seemed to be in charge was very rude. We were vacationing with another couple, and were looking forward to being able to visit with them casually in the common rooms. This was particularly so because we had found the Inn on a Bed & Breakfast website. I've never been to a... more

My wife and I stayed here on our honeymoon trip down the California coastline. This hotel was nestled in a beautiful part of Northern California and had a really pretty view of the ocean. I was not blown away by the staff as we entered. The receptionist was on the phone for a while, but once she was done she... more

My husband and I were on a trip from Seattle to San Francisco. We spent several days driving and didn't have reservations anywhere once we left Seattle. We happened upon the Wharf Master's Inn completely by accident. We had read in our guidebook that there was a clean, relatively inexpensive motel on the main drag in town but by then... more

I hate to write this, as overall we loved our weekend. But I have to say, the current management needs help or at least direction. The Woman and her boyfriend taking over the day to day operations lately - I don't remember their names, but the women is blond and the guy helps maintain the property - are a 50/50... more

I have stayed at Wharf Masters before and tried one more time, still shabby, needs some tlc in the rooms, and the stair railings going to the rooms quite wobbly. Also we were half hour early for check in and the front desk informed us, curtley, that check in was at 3:00. I do not think we will be back,... more

Stay away! We were very disappointed with our stay at the Wharf Masters Inn. The place was hard to find; I called the hotel for directions and the girl that answered made it even more confusing. When we finally got there the young girl at the front desk was on the phone and totally ignored us for a few minutes.... more

We stayed one night in an ocean view room with whirlpool. Room was clean but the feather mattress topper had a huge lump of feathers in the center of the bed that would have required us to strip the bed, redistribute the feathers and remake. Hmm, I had not planned on that much work! The next morning we discovered that... more
