This is the 3rd oldest house in Placerville according to our host. The place has lot of character, but it needs some TLC. Their breakfast was good. My son liked the brownies. I like the fact that you can walk to Main St. from the B&B. The yards needs to be spruced up. We stayed at the Inverness room. The... More

We stayed at he GlenMorey Country House for our anniversary. Having some difficulty finding the home we were greeted by Tom who was the best host. The room we were given was the Edinburgh. Very charming with vintage style. This room had no extra seating so we were sitting on the bed or outside on the nice porch or in... More

This Bed and Breakfast is over 150 years old and has been added on to over the years. The rooms are nice sized and there is a nice living area to sit and read. There was a music player that had CD's and a table where you could play games or work puzzles. It is all on one floor which... More

Very slight challenge to locate. Extremely welcoming family. Beds and rooms excellent. Well meaning breakfast, but Tom's culinary skills need honing and the coffee was weak. Nonetheless the overall experience was good and the property is recommended without reservation. Would definitely return.

We just spent the weekend at the Glen Morey Country House in Placerville. We were in the area for a wedding and wanted to have a romantic weekend for us too. The Glen Morey house was perfect for a weekend like this and we were very happy with our stay. Tom was a wonderful host and we were a fan... More

I booked into this B&B after having my reservation for the Gunn House Hotel in Sonora inexplicably cancelled 2 months before we were due to travel. I needed to find somewhere to stay so that we could go white water rafting on the South Fork American river nearby and I was having trouble finding a B&B that could take a... More

I booked the GlenMorey B&B based on reviews from Trip Advisor and Hotels.com...and was unfamiliar with the area. I've never booked anything "in the blind" before i.e. without referrals from friends, relatives...not being familiar with the area etc. I have to say, we were pleasantly surprised. Aside from the fact the location was perfect...the house and our room was lovely,... More

Glen Morey comes very high on hospitality but is let down by being somewhat jaded around the edges. We were in the Edinburgh Room which whilst comfortable was rather dark and oppressive. This could really be improved by lightening the colour scheme. The over abundance of bric-a-brac could do with 'culling' as they only act as dust gatherers. This lovely... More

GlenMorey is a neat old house with all the comforts of home. Tom took great care of us, but we still felt like we had the place to ourselves. The breakfast was GREAT and would easily cost you 35 to 40 bucks for two people downtown. If you do want to go downtown, Placerville is only a 5 minute walk.... More

Gracious hospitality, a great bed and deep relaxing tub in the St. Andrews Room. We were ready for a quiet couple of nights and got that and more. The innkeepers accommodated our request for vegan breakfast and we were delighted both mornings. Ali even made yummy vegan cookies for us! Maggie served our second breakfast with real Scottish charm. Tom... More
