My husband and myself wanted to meet one of our sons in Pismo for a short vaca. We have always LOVED the central coast and Pismo was it for us. He lives in San Diego and we live in Oakhurst. We originally planned to stay (3 nights) at Pismo Lighthouse Suites, which was really nice, but when we decided to... More

this was a great place to break my drive from San Francisco to Santa Monica. For a very reasonable price I had a spacious room (with a kitchen I didn't really need). The balcony overlooking the beach was sublime, as was the sound of the surf which lulled me to sleep. The spaciousness of the room was complemented by the... More

My first time in California, left Pahrump at 5 AM and caught the sunrise in Death Valley and then drove to Pismo on Routes 178 and 58 (WOW!) in time for an awesome sunset. Looked for a beachfront hotel and stopped in at the Sea Gypsy. They gave me an end unit ocean front suite. Very friendly staff and wonderful... More

I love that you are right on the water here. We stayed in a two room suite with a party of 5 we were extremely comfortable. Almost everything you need coffee, coffee maker, microwave, mini kitchen! We spent a lot of time hunting for shells & walking the dogs on the beach. It was sunny and 80 degrees!! I couldn't... More

My wife and I spent two nights at the Sea Gypsy in an oceanfront kitchenette, room 302. There are three floors of oceanfront rooms all having balconies. We were on the third floor, which I think is best. Obviously you have no one tromping around above you, but also balconies on the top floor will have no one sweeping dog... More

My first visit to the Sea Gypsy was in 1987. Went there on a yearly basis into the 90's with the kids. This visit was a long time in coming. The rooms are updated and nice. Lots of room with a wall bed and a nice kitchen area for the beachfront rooms. Access to the beach for a wonderful walk... More

I've stayed here many times since I was a teenager and will continue to come back in the years to come. There's no better value in Pismo. The rooms have looked dated in the past but, I've noticed certain upgrades to the room the made it feel a little more modern. A suite with an ocean view is perfect for... More

Stayed here 4 times in the last 5 years. Gorgeous views. Beach access is easier than some places nearby; i.e, no staircases with 1000 steps. Downtown is walking distance. The rooms I've stayed in had kitchens & a full fridge. Rooms are clean, beds are soft. The sound of the waves at night is extremely relaxing. If only the surf... More

This is my second stay here, I wanted to try the direct oceanfront room. Staff was friendly when I made one night reservation and two days before called to see if I could add another night. At first I was going to have to change rooms but the lady did some refiguring and I was able to stay in same room,... I've stayed at this hotel several times throughout the years and always come back . I like the fact that there's a full kitchen , so we don't have to go out all the time . It's in walking distance to the pier, shopping and dining . The staff has always been great and helpful . There can be rude... More
