Pine Valley seems to be over-run by snotty teenagers, LOL. Hope they can donate their 20" BMX's, try on a shirt & tie, and go to school or work toward bringing value to themselves and surroundings. The forested areas around Pine Valley are gorgeous, the Hotel exterior is beautiful, but the interior is obviously very used and merely maintained. A... More

For cyclists the Inn is very convenient for that last push into San Diego. It is not a budget Inn, Sun-Thur $69+tx, Fri-Sat $79+tx. However you get a very good King bed, clean line, clean large room, micro-wave, fridge/freezer, small FT/TV with direct TV, and free wi-fi. You have a nice sofa and coffee table for TV viewing and a... More

My husband and I have stayed here several times. It's not a four star, but it is clean and the beds are very comfortable. We love the fact that it's in the mountains where it is nice and cool...the office staff are very friendly as well.. Down the street is Calvins sports bar. Good food and great people run it.... I ended up sleeping in this motel by circumstances, just it was getting dark and decided to stop. It was a blessed choice. The room was clean, big, well equipped with all the amenities you'd want. Price is ok. Pine Valley itself being a small community, offers some choice of restaurant and shops. Nice place.

This little motel is not far from San Diego, and right off Interstate 8, making it convenient as I drive thru for business. It looks rather quaint from the outside, rough natural wood... a real cowboy country motel. And, it has a corner on the market; it is the only lodging in town. The Pine Valley Inn is for people... Took a spur-of-the-moment Road Trip with my husband in June 2014. Stayed in Idyllwild first night and then headed down back side of San Jacinto just cruising... Found this place on line and because of reviews, we stopped there. First, it is the ONLY lodging in town!! Looked very rustic, cozy, cute, charming from the outside.... WRONG!! After paying for... Unfortunately, I cannot recommend this motel. I've stayed in some sketchy places, but this was definitely the dirtiest and stinkiest motel I've ever been in. I did have a smoking room only because when I reserved the room it was all they had available. Big mistake. The room furnishings are in dire need of replacement and updating. Do yourself a... More

uring April we checked in for a room and I submitted my credit card. My wife and I went to the room, and found it dirty. The floor was filthy, paint peeling, bathroom filthy. This room didn't come close to livable standards in our estimation. We were in the room less that one minute. I returned to the desk clerk... More

We were looking for an inexpensive place to stay while we drove around Southern California on a road trip, and weren't really sure what to expect here but we honestly weren't expecting much. We got a wonderful surprise. The staff was nice, there's a small grocery store in the complex that had everything we needed, and the local diner/bar had... More

This is an older motel in a nice quiet community. The room was large enough, but the heater (it was cold outside) was either all on or had to be manually turned off. As a result, the room got too hot during the night; and too cold in the morning after turning the heater off during the night. Bathroom was... More
