Stayed in cottage was nice very outdated decor wise but thats not why we stayed I was disappointed cause I brought my kids and specifically called asked if since we were staying on weekdays accommodations would be open til 7pm and nothing but the pool was open we went weekdays to stay away from crowds..definitely felt cottage could really use... My daughter arranged an extended family trip to this venue after a previous trip with just her family. I'm guessing the park is a little over 2000' elevation, in a mixed oak and evergreen forest. Its moderately hilly for a campground. The facilities are at the bottom of a hill, with tent and RV spots all uphill. Not too bad... More

I don't think I have ever been to an RV campground with sites this narrow. Our neighbor's pop out was so close to our picnic table that you could lean up against it from the bench. Their sewer hookup was two feet from where we ate. I'm not sure that's up to code. I have read other reviews that raved... More

We had a family reunion for 82 at Gold Country Campground and Resort. The amenities made it a fantastic place for family members of all ages. People had great options for bringing their own RV's, tent camping, cabins, or lodge rooms. We used the recreation hall and all of the facilities to the fullest extent possible. Kids loved being able... More

We stayed here one night on a long detour around the north of Yosemite because of road closures. The park has lots of trees and large sites. Wi-Fi was intermittent at best and reception staff were a bit unfriendly. Otherwise, a lovely secluded and wooded place.

We were in the area for a cross country meet and decided to stay overnight and make a weekend out of it. I was looking for a cabin or hotel that allowed dogs and booked a cabin after reading Trip Advisor reviews. I was not familiar with Pine Grove and immediately loved the wooded setting of the resort. The cabins... More

We stayed @ GC campground mid week which was great because we had no other campers on either side of us, very peaceful. There is some road noise from the highway but the scenery is so nice it's easy to tune it out. The buildings like the arcade, etc are pretty shabby and the arcade is musty smelling. Broken older... We stayed at this campground over Memorial Day weekend. We camped in a tent and had a very nice experience. There are lots of amenities for the kids (water park and swimming pool are the highlights) and dogs are welcome (they have a huge dog park). They even had a live band playing on Saturday afternoon (from 4 to 6... More

We came to check out the Pine Grove area, saw this campground online and thought we would try it. We stayed in their cabins and they are really cute. For the price, it was better than a basic hotel room. Great place to go during the summer time with kids, although we stayed off-season our young kids still enjoyed the... More

I guess it's all relevant to the person being asked...."what makes the perfect campground?". In my books the Gold Country Campground Resort would be at the top! My wife and I just spent a great weekend there in our 5th wheel for the first time. We'll be back and we'll be bringing our grandkids. http://www.goldcountrycampground.com/index.html The off season rate for... More
