The Madrones offers various accommodations in a peaceful, beautifully well-maintained setting. It feels like a different world once you turn into the courtyard. The garden is quite nice and set up for guests to enjoy--read a book, daydream, eat, surf the internet... The Innkeeper will promptly and politely attend to your needs or questions should you have any. The location... More

I just spent a couple days at The Madrones and I could not recommend it more highly. The rooms are beautiful! Great design and art everywhere. The property is lovely - flowers everywhere. The restaurant on site (Stone and Embers) is fantastic and there are several excellent wine tasting rooms on the property. The Madrones is very centrally located within... More

The Madrone looks like a beautiful European villa. Our room was large and nicely appointed, the bed was comfortable, the bath was large with a huge shower. Our room opened out onto an elegant Italian garden. We chose The Madrone in part because of the tasting rooms located in the complex, a collection of some highly rated small production wineries.... Every time I write a review about The Madrones I know I'm risking not being able to book a room again in the future, but it just gets better every time we go. This was a last minute trip a few weeks ago for an overnight. We stayed in a new room for us, one of the rooms done in... More

As you enter the majestic gates, you feel as though you are in a very exclusive Mediterranean estate. The architecture is very unique and there is great attention to detail in the landscape, decor, and every idea executed in the properties design. There are several tasting rooms and a restaurant on site. The Owners are extremely proud of their property... More

We discovered Anderson Valley and this place through a report in the British wine journal Decanter. The Madrones is located conveniently in the middle of a whole range of wineries and has the added advantage of having four tasting rooms plus a restaurant on the charming premises, allowing you to eat and drink and retire to your spacious, comfortable (and... Stayed 2 nights on a holiday weekend and never saw the hostess. The reception hall remained empty and locked 24/7. Played phone tag with her trying to get allergy- and sweat-inducing feather bedding replaced until we got a very unapologetic VM that there was no other bedding. Wouldn't want to try to sleep there in August. 2 of the 4... More

First of all, we appreciate you taking time to post a review.... and I do remember your stay. I am a bit puzzled about a few of your comments and do want to try and address them. First of all, your traveling companion did arrange for a self check-in upon your arrival, since you were arriving after hours, so we... More

If you're looking for a lovely, trendy, upscale hotel stay, keep on driving–the Madrones is unique. With only a few rooms and tucked back from the road within a graveled courtyard, it was like stepping into Italy & leaving behind California traffic...although in June there wasn't much traffic in Anderson Valley. Good communications with the staff before our trip ensured... More

So, decided to visit Anderson valley on our honeymoon (both great wine nerds, from Sweden) and chose the madrones due to the on-site tasting rooms. When arriving at 4 pm after a long drive all except one tasting room was closed (despite their websites and even door signs saying different). According to the manager they probably just left early...A slight... More

First of all, we want to thank you for taking the time to post a review. We truly appreciate the feedback of our Inn guests and think it is a great reference for others to gauge their expectations. I am sorry for your frustration with the early closing of a couple of the tasting rooms on the property. Just so... More

On a road trip from Seattle and heard about the Anderson valley. Tried to book day of online but needed 24 hrs. In advance. On a whim after stopping there and walking the beautiful gardens and grounds but finding Inn office closed and talking to one of the tasting rooms I texted the number on the door. Jim, the owner...
