So, decided to visit Anderson valley on our honeymoon (both great wine nerds, from Sweden) and chose the madrones due to the on-site tasting rooms. When arriving at 4 pm after a long drive all except one tasting room was closed (despite their websites and even door signs saying different). According to the manager they probably just left early...A slight... More

First of all, we want to thank you for taking the time to post a review. We truly appreciate the feedback of our Inn guests and think it is a great reference for others to gauge their expectations. I am sorry for your frustration with the early closing of a couple of the tasting rooms on the property. Just so... More

On a road trip from Seattle and heard about the Anderson valley. Tried to book day of online but needed 24 hrs. In advance. On a whim after stopping there and walking the beautiful gardens and grounds but finding Inn office closed and talking to one of the tasting rooms I texted the number on the door. Jim, the owner... We were on a trip to Ft Bragg and stopped on the way for tastings. The folks at Yorkville Cellars pointed us to The Madrones for pintos but we skipped that side of the road on the way north. After a disappointing night in Ft Bragg we decided to cut our trip short and head back to Sonoma, but stopped... More

There is not a lot in the Anderson Valley other than vineyards, wineries, and redwoods a bit farther north. That made our discovery of The Madrones even more surprising. The room was huge, clean, well decorated, and clearly well kept. The service enthusiastic and personable without feeling invasive. Even the lack of daily maid service was a positive as it... More

I am reluctant to say anthing because this place is about as near perfect as you can get - and I don't want anyone else to know - want to keep it to ourselves! but, it is sooo nice that people need to know about it! Generally I give "pros and cons" for places, but there are NO cons for... More

It says something about Anderson Valley in Mendocino County when a "town" of 67 people can boast of four B&B's. The Madrones is the top rated and would stand out in a much larger crowd. The photos on Trip Advisor will give you great insight into the looks and accommodations, so I will talk about the feel. From the start... More

We stayed twice at the Madrones. The first night we stayed in the Estate Guest Quarters I. I thought it was the nicest room we have ever stayed in. It's only drawback was it's being upstairs. We also had the good fortune that the larger quarters down the hall was unoccupied. On our return, a few days later, we stayed... More

We spent 3 days in guest quarters 1. Lovely! It was comfortable, clean and well appointed. If we needed anything, Jim was so very helpful! We visited many wineries, went to 2 great state parks and totally relaxed. The restaurant was exceptional! A haven in wine country!

A return customer, I always rave about The Madrones. Each time I've been there it has been with different friends or family. The Madrones never disappoints and steps up to and exceeds the high bar I've already set for who's with me. We've been there in 2 different seasons, each amazing. The Madrones is heaven within heaven located in the... More

We spent one night in the newest room, the Garden Suite. It is beautiful with two French doors that look out over the garden. What a view you get from the bed! It's private, comfortable and romantic. The nespresso coffee maker, banana bread, juice, yogurt (with granola to sprinkle on it), is a perfect way to start your day. We... More
