The only thing i'd change is the breakfast. This wonderful place deserves attention to details. You can only serve yourself really bad coffee, and a piece of cake. You can do much better. The rest of the hotel is wonderful.

We loved our stay at The Metro Hotel. It's quirky charm and gracious service were just as we'd been told. The value for the price was excellent. We'd stay there again, for sure. When we checked out, the young man asked "Is there anything we could have done to make your stay better?" I honestly could not think of one... More

Our plans changed and I needed a place to stay that night. Lucky for us, they had a room. It felt like a B & B. It was a peaceful little retreat after driving through the San Jose and San Francisco areas. Wish we had arrived earlier in the day so we could have seen the surrounding area.

My daughter (who lives in Petaluma) and I were looking for rooms for other family members visiting from out of state. One person wouldn't have a car. Three people would only be staying in one room for one night. All the big box hotels were full and/or very expensive and/or not conveniently located and/or had minimum stay requirements. Metro Hotel... More

If I could spend several months here, I would. The bed was so comfortable. The room was quirky fun and had nice bath amenities. The hotel is old style in that you meet your neighbors at the free breakfast. It's around the corner from a nice park and within walking distance to old town Petaluma. Oh, and did I mention... More

Very cool hotel close to Petaluma city centre. Cosy room with a lot of character. I only missed a bit more water pressure in the shower. Good alternative to staying in Sonoma (town). Was a very good price compared to areas around Sonoma Valley. The rooms were clean and parking was easy. Would definitely go back.

I'm in town for a leadership conference and this place simply rocks. I'm a luxury snob. I considered Sheraton and the Gaton Resort but couldn't pass up this well reviewed gem and I was not disappointed. It's just perfect, quiet and perfectly serviced. I think I'd describe it as a B&B for someone who would never go to a B&B... More

I've stayed here twice and really like it. It's very clean, affordable, and a handy place from which to explore Sonoma and Marin counties. Excellent complimentary coffee in the morning (and a few simple baked goods as well). Also great (and free) wifi. The French cultural artifacts are quirky and amusing.

My husband and I only stayed for one night but it was really cute. The atmosphere is very relaxed and the staff was polite, friendly and helpful. The room was ADORABLE. It was clean and very comfortable. We both enjoyed the decor of the hotel kitchen, lobby, garden and our room. The owner obviously loves France. There was French music... More

If you want a fun, funky, yet fantastic place to stay close to the wine country and many, many wonderful towns, this is a must stay! The staff goes overboard to please, the accommodations were great and it was walking distance to Petaluma's quaint downtown. Pricing is great! This was a 'not to be missed' destination!!
