This KOA was the best we've visited so far. The playground was huge and fun, petting area was neat, and the jumping pillow was a huge draw and super fun. We also enjoyed the large pool and hot tub. And the bathroom! The campground bathroom was like something out of Vegas. It was the nicest public shower house I've ever... More

First, the booking process was great! Used the koa.com site and booked our 3 week vacation to the San Francisco area about 5 months in advance. This campground is located in Petaluma, which is about 45-60 minute drive to San Francisco over the Golden Gate Bridge ($7 toll to drive southbound over the bridge). The check in process was smooth... More

I stayed here one night. Although they have ample space for tents, the real estate is kind of beat up. The spaces claim to be part grass and part dirt but, believe me, it's mostly dirt with stone and pebbles all in it. I nearly ripped my tent in this space. On the good side, their bathrooms were clean and... More

My husband and I have been coming here since the late 80's - first by ourselves in a tent and then with our children in an RV. There is a reason it keeps on winning the KOA President's Award every year! It is a clean, well-run campground. Loads of stuff for the kids to do, great location to go into... More

We arrived at Petaluma KOA as our travels were taking us to San Francisco. We had come from the Oregon Coast, so we had our trailer and this made sense. I must say that access to this facility from the California 101 (North or South) is pretty easy. Although at present I would pay close attention as they are doing... More

We are glad you enjoyed your stay at our KOA Campground. We appreciate your input. We are giving our staff kudos on the good and reviewing and retraining on the areas that have room for improvement. You are correct, being we are on 70 acres and 312 sites, our sites vary from being in the middle of all the recreational... More

Felt safe enough to let me kids explore on their own and they had a blast. Plenty of family oriented activities and great kids only stuff. Rock wall, bouncy bubble, pool, petting zoo, and farms all within sight. Nightly movies and activities offered as well. Clean bathrooms, showers, and great laundry facility. Although pricey, the general store was conveniently located... More

Yes it was expensive, the most expensive site during our two week camping trip. However, the kids got to climb a rock wall for free, jump in the jumper, pet animals in their petting zoo, swim to their heart's delight, soak in the hot tub, and watch a movie alongside the pool as the stars began to twinkle overhead. If... More

The KOA was what we expected, and our kids loved it. Wish the store had more to grill than just hot dogs and brats, but was grateful they had that. I've said over and over again how great an investment tours are. We had to cut San Francisco from our own itinerary, so were thrilled that KOA offered a day... More

They pack them in at this KOA and charge a hefty price ($89/night) for an RV park 50+ miles from San Francisco. The good: Paved roads, paved pull through sites, pool and hot tub, rec hall with bike rentals and games for the kids, restrooms and showers are reasonably clean. Easy on/off of the 101 Freeway. Friendly staff. The bad:... More

We came from Oceanside Ca up the 101 and was wanting to stop at an RV Park for the night. We did have 10 of us in a Motor Home and yes we have been paying a little extra for each person over usually about 7-8 person limit no problem BUT KOA in Petaluma through an extra twist on getting... More
