I really want to like this place and certainly there are positives, but the bad is bad and can't help but color the experience. My husband and I rented a tent cabin, enjoyed an appetizer in the restaurant, and hiked on the beach. I also had a massage, which was part of a package we bought. The good...it is an... More

In March, Pete Wernick held his jam camp at Costanoa. I elected to stay in the lodge itself and cannot comment on the tents or camping facilities. My room was comperable to an upscale motel, with a very comfortable bed. I could have used more drawer space for unpacking, but since I was there only 4 nights it was adequate... More

We stayed in one of their basic tents, and will likely be back to enjoy one of their cabins with family some time in the future. What other people have mentioned is true, the set up is kind of...bizarre. With fireplaces attached to the bathrooms, it was a little awkward (though nice of them) to be offered a smore upon... More

Lovely stay on the coast less than 1 hour from SF. Lovely, peaceful experience. You really get away from it all here. Eco styling, glamping, hiking, spa and nice restaurant. 5 mins to Ano Nuevo state park.

My two night stay at Costanoa was simply an incredible experience. The service was very warm and friendly, the grounds are amazing, the food was delicious, and I would definitely go back. Options range from renting a campground or an RV spot, to canvas tents with wooden decks and outside seating, to lodge style rooms in gorgeous wooden buildings, to... More

Beautiful grounds, but it could use a little maintenance (we last stayed here almost 10 years ago when it was newly opened). The sea air is tough on all the wood and there's a bit of mold in the shared bathroom showers. Same with the hot tub....a little mold along the edges and in need of a cleaning (squashed bugs... More

Spent a quick anniversary weekend in tent cabin in Fall 2013. THE GOOD: Experienced fantastic weather (though I think fog may be more typical), surprisingly excellent food/friendly service at on-site restaurant. I also had messed up and reserved only one night on-line and they were super helpful in figuring out how we could stay an extra night (even avoided moving... More

Yes the views and grounds are beautiful BUT that is it. We stayed in the lodge for 1 night and it was torture, the room was always uncomfortably warm borderline hot and stale NO AC just a "fan". And the way the rooms in the main lodge are laid out no ocean breeze either. The beds were very stiff and... More

WE camped in RV's. Except for confusion checking in with the office staff we love this place. You could see the ocean from our spot. We went to the Pumpkin Festival in Half Moon Bay and had a great time. We had a great dinner at the restaurant, except that the music was pretty loud so you couldn't hear what... More

My spouse and I finished an awesome 2-weeks in California with a week at Costanoa. It is amazing that such a tranquil, beautiful, and inexpensive stay is so close to San Francisco. We stayed in one of the log cabins, facing the woods. We didn't mind the walk up the hill to the showers and restrooms - the floors are... More
