After 2 nights of camping on our own, my husband and I decided to stay in one of their "tents" for one night. A nice structure with windows, lights and locking door, concrete floor and a queen bed, complete with pillows, quilt and a heated mattress. Some ants in our tent..but this is nature. There are also rooms in the... More

We are traveling for two months in California and Oregon and heard from friends about Costanoa. It is spectacular and is an eco-adventure lodge and campground. We had dinner twice at The Cascade Restaurant and each meal was outstanding in taste and presentation. My husband loved the bike trails and beach hikes, while I was content to enjoy the quiet... We stayed for 2 nights in the lodge recently. Overall, the grounds are beautiful and the surrounding area is amazing. We were very impressed with the food and friendly staff. One major issue to be aware of is that there is no cell service or wifi on this part of the CA coast. It was nice to escape from tv... More

This was a beautiful place that my husband and I happened upon while driving up the coast. The lodge is gorgeous, the restaurant-while expensive, was delicious and the location spectacular. We took two beautiful, diverse hikes- one on sand dunes to the beach and the other up into the hills to look out over the ocean. Also took a great... More

This place is perfect if you love to camp but don't want to give up all the finer things in life (like a hot shower and a bed:) The tent cabin we stayed in was clean and comfy. We loved the heated mattress pad and the basket of towels and shampoos etc was a nice touch. The restaurant was amazing.... More

We stayed in the lodge which had a fantastic set up. There was a bath, fire place, and a very comfortable bed. Restaurant food was impressive. When we woke up the next morning with a flat, the staff creatively helped us twist off some rusted on lug nuts (never get Fox Rent a Car!). Two thumbs up for Costanoa.

Costanoa is a combination resort/conference center/campground/hotel that is located on an isolated stretch of the Northern California coast between Half Moon Bay and Santa Cruz. It dates from the 1980s and has a nice lodge where we stayed in a comfortable King size room with a balcony. Prices are somewhat upscale for a basic room without TV but may be... More

Stayed in a 3-person tent cabin for 4 nights. First the bad - check in is at 4pm, but our cabin wasn't ready till 4:30, when we unlocked the cabin, there was a terrible smell - sort of chemical/mold-like, even though all the windows were open. We went back to the front desk and told them the problem and asked... More

I spent a Saturday night here in a tent bungalow on my bike ride to LA and absolutely loved it. This place felt so close to nature and was so peaceful. I generally dislike camping for a lot of reasons (hard to stay clean, putting up the tent is a pain, sleeping is uncomfortable, etc), but staying here in a... More

Have a canvas cabin with No Housekeeping. After several days I asked for a couple of clean towels to replace the two I'd been using. Hosea at the lodge desk reminded me that I have "no housekeeping" and that clean towels are only included with "housekeeping." Fortunately, Hosea hesitatingly gave me two clean, dry towels with the admonition to upgrade... More
