Classic motor hotel feel. Basic, clean rooms with few frills (e.g., no in-room coffee maker). Two experiences keep me from giving it a 5 rating. One: the wi-fi apparently has a limited range. We stayed in room 323 -- the top floor at the end of the hall. We had trouble getting or staying connected with the motel's wi-fi. If... More

My husband stayed here for 9 nights on business and I was with him for 5 nights. This place is as the name says - a traditional motor hotel. But it has more character and interest to it than the other chain motels along Colorado Blvd. The hotel was busy. Our room was on the small side for 2 people,... More

Loved staying here, rooms were clean, staff welcoming. It is an older property, with surprisingly large rooms. if you are expecting perfection, new everything, don't stay here. If you are looking for walking/parking access and something clean and nice, this is it! I thought it was charming. Will stay there again.

The Saga Motel is a retro place right on Colorado Blvd in Pasadena. The room was, as expected, older, but clean, comfortable, and well appointed. The pool area was nice, but not used because of the cool weather. Other public areas appeared a bit tired and worn. Continental Breakfast was average, although they offered fresh fruit. My experience was downgraded... More

This motel is right across the street from Pasadena City College. The area is "questionable" at night but the motel is very comfortable and feels safe. The parking is on-site and is truly needed because there simply is no parking available in Pasadena for anything: even grocery stores have limited parking! (Pasadena also has a plastic bag ordinance, so pay... More

My husband and I stayed here for his birthday weekend. We were given what I considered to be the best room in the place. We very much enjoyed the vintage look of the place with its 50's architecture, beautiful pool area, and sheltering palms and banana plants. The accommodations were quiet, clean, and comfortable. We were able to walk to... More

If you like places with character this is great. The ceilings are low and the trees are tall. The room was clean, the bathroom was obviously new. Great shower. Towels were fine, regular motel towels. Staff was excellent and friendly. Breakfast was regular for a continental style, but there was a variety of choices. The area was safe and had... More

I came across this hotel and booked it because of the good reviews. When I first drove up, I honestly thought "is this a horror movie set?" It was deserted and dated. But when I got in my room was very comfortable. The decorations remind me of someone's guest room--whatever they had left over went in the room. The walls... More

This was a return visit from several years before and there has been no restoration since our last visit. This was a combination family, Christmas, and Rose Parade and Bowl stay and all went well. Temperatures were in the 30's in the morning but it was sunny. We had a poolside room but it was too cold for us to... More

The trip of a lifetime to see the Rose Bowl parade and we couldn't have found a better place to stay! Booked a year in advance, on the parade route and a charming historic Route 66 hotel with a warm and friendly staff. Clean rooms, great view of the pool, Palm trees. Exactly what we hoped for this trip.
