I used to live in South Pasadena and recently returned for a 3 day visit and decided to try one of many Colorado Blvd motels. I booked online at a good rate. The room was a good size with a refrigerator but you need to go to the lobby for coffee maker or microwave and that is the only suggestion... More

Upon the recommendation of the Pasadena Historic society, I booked 3 nights here while a friend and I toured Arts and Crafts neighborhoods during the Craftsman weekend. The elevator broke down when we checked in, so since I have claustropobia, I took the stairs to our 3rd floor room for the rest of the 3 days. While it is in... More

My family & I stayed here on 10/11 to attend the Rose Bowl Flea Market. We enjoyed it. No nitpicking on anything other than the bathroom in Room 118 needs a fan. As others have stated, the rooms have been been remodeled & overall are very nice. Other than the lack of a bathroom fan, we had no complaints. The... More

As fans of the Midcentury Modern era the Saga Motor Hotel has the exterior look that appealed to my wife and me. At first I thought the retro look was intentional, but after I got into the room it appeared that the hotel just happened to update some aspects and kept some of the other more retro aspects. While the... More

What a great find for my wife and I. Price was a consideration, but we loved the throwback atmosphere. This place is classic, but the rooms are updated, clean and the staff is excellent. We were running 30 minutes late and they let us hit the breakfast after close. Definitely coming back to this one.

I chose this place over a larger chain for my stay in pasadena last weekend. boy was that a mistake. the things that made me want to stay here: inexpensive free wifi free breakfast nice looking pool close enough to my destination, even though further than the other options the free wifi did not work. the free breakfast was inedible.... The Good. It was $85 a night through their website and for that price it was worth it.We were upgraded to a poolside room which is bigger than the rooms on the second and third floors. The staff was friendly. The area is safe, quiet and near downtown Pasadena. The Bad Their is no sound insulation. We heard the people... More

The Saga is located on East Colorado right in the heart of Pasadena, across the street from Pasadena Community College and a few blocks from Caltech. As a result, it is very popular with people visiting those campuses and the Jet Propulsion Lab. It is a very basic 50’s or 60’s style motor inn. Being right on Colorado is both... More

Stayed here for one night a couple of nights ago. Wanted to try it out as I try to stay in as many Route 66 motels as I can. I was not disappointed. Rooms are clean and comfortable. Staff were friendly. There is a continental breakfast in the morning that is adequate. Location is OK, although if you want to... More

My husband and I normally always stay at 3 or 4 star hotels, but after reading such negative reviews about them in Pasadena, I wasn't about to pay an enormous bill for a bad upper scale hotel. We needed four nights and would only be there for showering and sleeping, coming in late each night. The web rate was 85... More
