We loved our stay at the Saga Motor Hotel. The location was perfect and the price was even better. The hotel is old but we were pleased with the size of the room, the cleanliness, and the very nice ladies at the front desk.

My wife and I stayed during a short overnight visit. The hotel staff was very nice, the property was charming, the room was nice except for the musty smell and the old carpets. My feet were black when I walked around in bare feet. The noise from Colorado Ave can be loud until traffic dies down after 11 pm. I... More

We loved the Saga. It is a unique, Route 66 motel. Very clean and quiet. Convenient to Colorado Blvd, Huntingdon Library, Caltech, short distance to downtown LA. Beautiful pool with huge Palm trees. Free breakfast , free laundry, free wifi. Managers so helpful with information for sightseeing. Best of all $87 per night! Tell me how you can beat that... More

I had never stayed at the Saga before but when a trip to Pasadena became necessary I wanted to make sure to try it out. I was not disappointed. It's been around since 1959 and in some spots is showing its age, mostly in a few of the public areas. The rooms, at least as far as the one my... More

I stayed here at the end of a Route 66 trip. Pleasant, nice touches like a shelf of books in the room - but feels old but preserved; the decor uses Botox. Elevator was old, carpets clean but worn. Breakfast was meh, fine but nothing fancy. The area was great for walking. Overall... Pleasant, has a lot of character, but... More

We stayed here as a half-way point between Phoenix and Northern California. I booked online, using Saga's website, and with their coupon (pronounced "cu-pon") code, our total damage was $100.50 for a room with two double beds. Not bad at all. The motel has a vintage 60s feel (they will give you a metal key to open your room door... More

Unimpressive from the outside, but the rooms are in fine condition. The room feels a little crowded, but you get a mini fridge and some desk space. Thin walls and creaky floors mean you may hear your neighbors at night. The location is great, seems like a very safe area and there are lot of eating options in walking distance.

Was a little concerned about words like "shabby" and "slow wifi" in reviews, but went ahead anyway and was VERY satisfied. Saga has all the "character" of a '50s or '60s Route 66 motor court, but has been fully and attractively updated to the 21st century. Wife and I are swimmers and this was one of the few Pasadena properties... More

Classic motor hotel feel. Basic, clean rooms with few frills (e.g., no in-room coffee maker). Two experiences keep me from giving it a 5 rating. One: the wi-fi apparently has a limited range. We stayed in room 323 -- the top floor at the end of the hall. We had trouble getting or staying connected with the motel's wi-fi. If... More

My husband stayed here for 9 nights on business and I was with him for 5 nights. This place is as the name says - a traditional motor hotel. But it has more character and interest to it than the other chain motels along Colorado Blvd. The hotel was busy. Our room was on the small side for 2 people,... More
