Feels like a tropical mountain getaway. Nice gardens, I had a great spacious and quiet room in the 300 block. BIG shower, seemed new. Loved the guys at the brakfast and had dinner there 2 timeswhich was really enjoyable too. I think there's more upscale hotels but I love the gardens, the feeling of the non-business hotel, the friendly employees.... More

I don't often use the word "cute" to describe a place, but this was an unusual amalgam of zen and kitsch that resulted in "cute". The room was clean, the staff was friendly, and the restaurant food was very good. Didn't use the pool, but it looked clean and the area around it was... cute. Only minor warning is that... More

A peaceful oasis, huge room, comfy beds, luxury pillows, and great breakfast. Gorgeous grounds, worth a stroll. If you're looking for a unique escape from the typical cookie-cutter hotel, this is your place.

Lured by the photos of a lush garden I was surprised to find a slightly upgraded motel. On the plus side, the bathroom, room service food and pool side drinks were nice. However, our ground level garden room overlooked the pool which meant that pool guests could see into our room. Also, our room was not cleaned until about 4:00... More

My first visit to Palo Alto was surprisingly delightful with my stay at this great and well run establishment. Although they were just trying out their new computer system at check-in, they were very welcoming. When I lost my way trying to find my room, one of the cleaning staff walked me to my location to ensure I wouldn't get... More

We were pleasantly surprised as to how nice this hotel was in terms of service and ambiance. The grounds were beautiful, the restaurant was great, and we loved our room. The hotel was much bigger than we thought, which was fine with us. Also, it is closer to Los Altos than Palo Alto.

The grounds are really pretty. Lush, tropical feel. The room? Meh. It's fine. It's clean, it will do the trick. My shower was TINY. Like, a 2x2 box. It was fine, but it makes it difficult to maneuver. My colleague stayed in the 300 block and she said hers was a big shower; another colleague and I stayed in the... More

We always enjoy Dinah's. Recently upgraded rooms are comfortable and attractive. Like most hotels, the hotel urges you to hang up towels to use gain, but unlike most hotels, they actually provide sufficient towel racks so that you can hang up said towels. However, our towels were change on the second day of our 3-night stay. Bring your own reading... More

For 16 years, I traveled to the peninsula once a month for business, and finally settled on Dinah's as the best price/performance anywhere near Palo Alto (and I tried a lot of hotels). But after I retired 8 years ago, I only visited other parts of the Bay Area. I worried that Dinah's would have slipped in that time, since... More
