Just far enough from Stanford University to not have astronomical prices for ordinary motels. My room was large and pleasant. The bed was comfortable with exceptionally soft sheets. The sitting area was large. The decor was a bit over the top with flowers painted on the walls and flower themed drapes, bed spread, etc. The staff was very helpful. The... More

We stayed here for my son's graduation this past weekend. As other reviewers have said, this is not fancy but our stay was delightful. Neil was extremely friendly and accommodating and really made us feel at home. The location is convenient. Everything is clean. Free parking and wifi. Free continental breakfast (cereals, packaged danish, coffee/tea, juice, milk). We enjoyed the... More

After one miserable night in a hotel a block away, I was able to get into this very warm and friendly place. The owners are so helpful and nice, offering whatever advice they can. I had a son who was a patient at Stanford, and these people made my stay so much easier. The rooms are a bit dated but... More

Hotel prices are high in Palo Alto. I picked Stanford Motor Inn because of price and, on a previous visit, I had driven by and it seemed reasonable. But the office had a nasty, fishy smell - cooking in the back room, perhaps? My room itself was dirty and smelled really bad. The bed was actually comfortable, sheets clean, but... More

From the outside, it's not terribly appealing but the staff is extremely attentive and kind, and the rooms are very clean, orderly AND quiet! A delightful surprise, truly, and considering the rise in prices for hotels this was a blessing in more ways than one. Parking on site. Continental breakfast in the morning. WIFI. Everything worked. Didn't hear noise from... More

I think most of the reviews reflects the facts: the motel seems quite old, and is somewhere between kitsch and quaint, depending on your perspective. Staff is great, friendly and helpful. Noise level from El Camino are tolerable but could be better. Updated bathroom and general cleanliness are a plus. But furnishings and decor are from 1970-80s, complete with amateurish... More

I have to be in Stanford Hospital every 2-4 weeks and the Stanford Motor inn is clean and a good value. Add updated bathroom, very friendly front desk, and no hassle with the dog and you have a winning combination. The décor is a little funky but the bed is comfortable and the noise level from busy El Camino muted.... More

While seeking a hotel in the vicinity of Stanford Hospital, we came across a posting for Stanford Motor Inn. Just through my phone conversation seeking additional information regarding the proximity to the hospital, the helpful, pleasant and professional manner of staff, I opted to book our stay. The Inn is a quaint facility, rooms very spacious, comfortable and clean. While... More

This is a very clean and well kept, though fairly dated motel. If you like kitsch and Americana you'll appreciate it here; if you prefer modern sophistication and luxury, not so much. There is a patio seating area and a heated pool that are both quite cute. I enjoyed my stay and liked that it had more personality than your... More

This is an old motel, which I chose in order to avoid the skyrocketing cost of the hotels in the area. The room we had was in the rear and thus avoided traffic noise. Forget the breakfast and try some coffee shop, e.g. the nearby Cafe Brioche. The room was clean but, otherwise, I don't have anything positive to say... More
