I had read the other reviews, so I knew it had more of a motel set up and that is indeed what I found. I had a room on the first floor and the door opens right up to the parking lot. The room was a little smaller than expected and I kept bumping into the corners of the bed... More

Three nights of pleasant surroundings and outstanding cleanliness. Enjoyed the breakfasts, small conference room, free newspapers, nice touch of fresh fruit and cookies, and Asian decor. The staff are attentive and helpful. I'll happily return.

The Zen was a last min add-on to my 3 day trip to the Bay Area but it was an excellent night's stay. It was so good that I'll be back ! The room, work area and bathroom were very clean - not a speck of dust. I am very particular about bathroom cleanliness and the Zen's was spotless. Some... More

I recently stayed at the Zen Hotel so I could attend a function for my son at Stanford. I was initially disappointed that the hotel wasn't closer to Stanford but it wasn't a problem. A bus runs up and down El Camino Real regularly. I think the fare is $1. Our room was clean and large, I had 2 queen... More

We stayed in Rm 208 (a double queen bedded room) for 2 nights. This was a quiet room away from the road and backing onto a narrow garden area. Room was comfortable and the beds excellent. Breakfast was functional, but very well done given the style of hotel. At the end of the day, this is a motel that works... More

The Zen Hotel is a modest motel type property. The rooms are very clean and they look like they have been recently renovated. The beds are surprisingly comfortable and the bathroom is spacious and modern. There was a little garden outside our room where you can relax or just walk around. It is conveniently located, close to many restaurants. The... More

As other reviewers have noted, this is a motel rather than a hotel: as far as I could see, all the rooms were essentially chalets, whose doors opened to the outdoors. It's on a busy junction, which makes it a bit noisy. And the heating system in my room was a bit dated. But the staff were friendly and helpful,... More

First, you would never notice this hotel, which really looks more like a motel from the outside. It is located at the corner of El Camino Real and Maybell, across from Walgreens. it is in a quiet area, even if it was close to the street. We were a little nervous when we first drove up. There was nothing fancy... More

My friend & I came for a nearby 3 day workshop and stayed an extra night on each end and were very pleased with the Zen. Greeted by friendly staff and great fresh baked cookies we were even given a choice of rooms when we arrived early. Ricardo could not have been nicer arranging our extra nights stay, as was... More

The name is so apt....the hotel was tranqulity personified - right off a busy street but you would never know it. Perfect for business or pleasure.....the surprise was the Japanese garden/seating areas at the back of the property. My colleague and I were there on business for one week and we loved it! The size of the suite and the... More
