We -- my wife, two kids, and I -- needed a room for the night. The kids wanted a pool; I wanted to be able to walk to coffee/restaurants/shops/etc. This fit the bill. We paid $209 (not including taxes) for a room with two queens (although they felt more like doubles/fulls) which seemed high to me. As others have noted,... More

not sure what happened to the other reviewers, but for me it was fine. Decor is a little old but wifi good and free, pleasant staff and good breakfast. No restaurant but there is a good steak place and a few fast food joints nearby. I'm rating this as the 3 star hotel it is - for this category it's... More

Beautiful, expensive, charming, great rooms, great pool, not too sure about the piano bar. Parking under the hotel at no charge. Nice breakfast and staff. Close to Stanford University. No negatives!!!!!

Yes, there are plants everywhere. Literally everywhere (but not in the rooms thankfully). The lighting is strange and the whole place is quirky. But the rooms are excellent. I have now stayed here twice and both rooms were just huge. The bed was super comfortable, there was a large workdesk and both rooms had gas fireplaces. One room even had... More

Location is perfect if you are going to Stanford university campus. The room is really big and confortable. Free wi-fi. The services are poor and slow (despite employees were very nice people) Getting a taxi can be hard. Nice area for a walk.

I had to stay in Palo Alto on short notice and - most hotels being sold out - my PA booked here. The very high price (400+) would have not been outrageous if breakfast would have been a bit more that gas-station level. Interesting how despite the ambitious price some basic comfort items - that in hotels in this price... More

The staff are friendly and helpful but the hotel is nothing to how it looks on the website and it is seriously expensive for what it is - an old fashioned motel. The wifi is good and they offers complimentary breakfast but the reception/breakfast area had a weird smell which was off-putting. The upholstery, carpets and curtains were really old... More

If this were any other town, this hotel would barely qualify as a Motel 6 1/2. It was VERY expensive (over $318/night WITH the Stanford discount!). The carpeting and furniture was truly vile. It was that busy, dark floral AND plaid patterns that can hide the worst of personal hygiene outrages. It was so low-class they charged you $3 for... More

I really want to like this place, but it's just so strange. From grandmas bedspread to the plant hoarders, I can't help wondering what they are hiding. However, there is often availability in crowded Palo Alto, you are in a good location and can walk to restaurants, and the basics - bed, bath and breakfast are suitable.

This is a quirky, pleasant hotel. Palo Alto is a weird hotel market, and I found this place after fleeing a terrible "boutique" hotel where the closet was a hook on the wall and the window faced a blank wall. It's in a great location and the staff are friendly and efficient. The rooms are huge by any standard. Nice... More
