This was my third stay at the Hotel Keen. All three times the rooms were well-appointed, extremely tidy, and felt modern yet cozy. While the spaces aren't gigantic, they are well-designed and highly functional, and I find the clean modern decor to be refreshing and especially not dated without being stark. The included breakfast is perfectly on point with a... More

My one-night stay at Hotel Keen in Palo Alto, California turned into a nightmare. From paper thin walls, noisy guests, to rude staff. For the price $500 per night, I got no sleep, endured hours of excessive noise from hotel guests, and a room one could hardly turn around in. Overall a very disappointing experience. When I expressed my concerns... More

This hotel was pretty disappointing - all the more given I'd expect something better in Palo Alto, and for the price. I stayed here 4 nights for a conference in Stanford. Staff were friendly, but the stay started badly, as power was out in the hotel for the first hour of my stay. Rooms were pretty basic, which is fine,... More

I was in Palo Alto for a conference at Stanford, and my the Hotel Keen looked perfect. Walking distance to the campus venue, easy walking to the University Avenue restaurant row awesome. Also a short two blocks from the Palo Alto Caltrain station, making getting to/from SFO a breeze. I've seen people complain about the size of the rooms. I... More

This place is half a block from University Avenue and 1 block from Caltrain. Being able to walk everywhere in Palo Alto and take Caltrain/BART to/from SFO airport is a real cost savings when travelling. As others have mentioned, the rooms are small, but they have everything one needs. The continental breakfast (included) is surprisingly good: brewed coffee, espresso maker,... More

I accompanied my husband on a business trip and we stayed in the 3rd floor "suite". The bad: The room was extremely tiny. There is no door to the bathroom, just a curtain - this is not so lovely when you are staying with a partner! The air conditioner is located right above the bed (above your head), so that... More

The hotel was nice, and while the rooms are very small, they were nicely furnished and comfortable. The location was also great. It would have been preferable if the bathroom had a door instead of a curtain, but at least I was staying alone! One small issue I had with the hotel is that I accidentally left my phone charger... Stayed one night on business trip and was pleasantly surprised to be upgraded to their 3rd floor suite. Reasonable rates for the area. Love the minimalist design and euro/danish decor vibe. Perfect location, within a 1 minute walk to main streets in downtown PA. There is no gym, but I paid the $20 daily fee to workout a local gym... More

I am so glad you enjoyed your stay with us. We do have the two little pinpoint lamps (similar to the ones on airlines) in the ceiling that can be adjusted to your needs - I am sorry that we were not able to point that feature out to you during your stay with us. We do hope to see... More

I spent two nights at the Keen, conveniently located in “downtown Palo Alto," on April 23-24, 2014. This boutique hotel was clearly designed to serve tech industry travelers – who are traveling solo. On the plus side, the hotel staff were very accommodating and very service oriented. Parking on surface streets overnight or during the day in the public lot... More

Thank you very much for staying with us. I am glad that you were happy with the hotel overrall and thought it quite suitable for one person. I just wanted to mention that we do have deluxe rooms that are not only 25% larger allowing more room to move around in (whether solo or with another person) but also have... More

Finally stayed in this boutique hotel located in my neck of the woods of northern Silcone Valley. Very elegant reputation. Reputable staff. Reasonable, yet higher than no-tell motel, prices with a fine coffee bar, cocktail hours during the week, and a superb continental breakfast. Location, location, location. Across from the municipal covered parking lot and the 280/281 SamTrans bus stop... More
