I didn't have huge expectations for the Ace - was interested in the visit from a few design blogs I frequent and wanted to split my stay in PS between two very different hotels. I get that it's different from other hotels and there are some admirable, stylish details about the place, but a tour of those things and a... More

I knew the Ace in Portland, OR, liked the style and vibe alot there. Palm Springs Ace was similar, cool place where you dont mind sticking around the property for a whole afternoon. Pool area with hammocks to lounge around in the amazing desert sun. I liked the clientle, un-pretentious and laid-back. Good 30-something crowd, mixed couples singles. Check out... More

Pretentious desk clerks. Botoxed up ladies who lunch. A restaurant with a menu that sounds like it would be tasty, but is disappointingly mediocre. Pretty boys who tan their buffed out bodies but block their faces from the sun. Lots of beards and plugs. The design and decoration are great, but the place just lacks soul and warmth. Would be... The Ace can seem a little intimidating at first, with all the "beautiful people" at the pool and the hipster vibe, but I ended up really enjoying my stay there. I was impressed with A LOT of the little details, like all the activities going on, trendy magazines in the room, and being able to throw a load of laundry... More

We love the Ace Hotels, and were not disappointed with the Ace Hotel and Swim Club. We relaxed the minute we checked in. The first plus was the staff. David was most wonderfully accommodating and helpful during our entire stay, and his coworkers seemed just as great. Having a pool and hot tub is a must for us, and their... More

I am a young professional in the mid 20s, stayed here at a patio suite for 5 nights to attend a local conference. The hotel is definitely hip, but I agree with the previous reviewer: "style over comfort". The suite with a private patio sounded like a great idea, but it's located on the ground floor so I constantly need... More

The only reason I am writing a review is to warn people that this hotel is truly not for everyone. It's really just for the young or young at heart. This is what makes it fun and perfect for a certain crowd, but can really sneeze in your tea if you're of a different persuasion. Good: *You can hear the... More

So many good things to say: Beds were so comfy. Loved the soft denim headboard. Staff was super friendly and eager to help out. Great retro design. The spa is wonderful. I highly recommend Dana. She is one of the best! The ineteresting thing is that the hotel is pretty quiet during the week....you almost feel like you have the... More

Great spot, and incredible use of existing facility. The two pools are great - the larger pool is fab on Sunday with a DJ playing great chill music. The Ace attracts a great mix of hetero and homo, probably some pan too. I'm not sure about the other reviews that pan the luxury - they don't claim to be anything... More

I am currently staying here for 3 nights over Christmas in one of the Simple Suites. This is a very cool, trendy and interesting hotel but it is definitely not luxurious. The suite is a great size and on first impressions it looks hip, but I think more attention has been paid to 'cool' rather than comfort. Although there is... More
