We are experienced naturists and frequent resorts. Terra Cotta came well recommended. We were very pleased. Though not luxurious, the room was comfortable with all the amenities. The atmosphere is cozy and the people very accommodating. This is an old converted motel, but if you overlook small bathrooms it was very pleasurable. The staff was sensational.

This is our favorite place to stay when we visit Palm Springs. Tom and Mary Claire bring the rare personal touch to the already unique atmosphere. For a nice, quiet, relaxing clothing optional resort this is the place for you, especially if you are new to the experience.

We there from the 15 thru the 22 of Feb and had a great time in the sun. Made many new friends and scheduled our week for next year! We were first timers to any clothing optional hotel. Tom and Mary Claire made us feel right at home. They have the greatest staff! This was a relaxing vacation to enjoy... More

First time visit to Terra Cotta Inn. We knew coming that this was a small resort. Friendly staff, decent breakfast, and clean grounds. Rooms are quite dated. Peeling paint in the bathrooms, tired caulking in the shower, lose tiles next to the pool so the place could use a little maintenance here and there. Comfortable bed though. Nice place for... More

Thank you very much for your review. It is very helpful. Glad you loved the beds. Those are top of the line Sealy brand plush top beds. All the guests love them like you did. Sleep is very important and our guests deserve the best. I'm glad you mentioned that we are a nice place for first timers. AOL Travel... More

Ran out to the desert for 2 nights when the weather report said that temps would be in the 80s. Terra Cotta was just the warm relaxing place that it has always been! We arrived and immediately dropped our things in our large room with full kitchen. We put on our sun tan lotion and found shady(or sunny if you... More

Thank you for your review. It does a great job of capturing the charm and flavor of our resort. As you point out we are pretty unique having guests from all over the US and Canada which is why we are popular 7 days a week. We're not just another weekend getaway, although Southern Californians wanting to relax and have... More

The Terra Cotta Inn is small in size but more than makes up for that by the warmth, enthusiasm and friendliness of the owners and staff. It is essentially a converted motel site encircling a beautiful haven of relaxation, featuring a mid-sized saltwater swimming pool to your left upon entering and a relaxing and somewhat secluded hot-tub to your right... We never planned to stay at Terra Cotta Inn,but when other plans fell through they had room for one night we ended up staying three, from the moment we called to check availability we felt comfortable and important, although the rooms were slightly outdated by design they made up for it in cleanliness and comfort,it was close to the attractions and nice... We stayed October 7-12 and was definitely not long enough. The weather, with the exception of 1 afternoon was very nice. Everyone at the Terra Cotta, including the owners, Tom and Mary Claire and their staff are very friendly. They make it a " homey" feeling as they want all their guests to be comfortable. They definitely CARE about their... More

This was our first experience at ANY clothing optional facility... and it really could not have been better. Patty and the staff are all very friendly and polite. Their desire to make sure we were comfortable and happy was very obvious. When we arrived, our room was not quite ready which gave us an opportunity to go to the store... More

I've traveled to many places including nudist resorts, lifestyle resorts and the boring ones too! This was the fist time traveling alone to a nudist resort. I was immediately at ease in speaking with the Owner Tom over the phone, truly the nicest guy! So off to Palm Springs I went! Less than a 2 hour drive from Los Angeles,... More

Official Description (provided by the hotel):
Looking for a fun, relaxing, romantic vacation? One that you will want to repeat year after year. Tired of boring big box chain hotels? Then book at the popular Terra Cotta Inn Clothing Optional Resort and Spa. Recipient of the coveted Los Angeles Times newspaper's 2011 and 2012 Readers Choice Awards as the most popular of ALL small resorts in ALL Southern California. Not a nudist? No problem. As AOL Travel reported when they picked TCI as one of the 10 best nudist resorts in the world. They called them the most mainstream clothing optional resort in the US and perfect for couples trying topless or nude sunbathing for the first time. Guests from around the world vacation there, thus they are popular 7 days a week, not just another weekend getaway. TripAdvisor picked them as one of the 10 best clothing optional resorts in the world and they're the only nude sunbathing resort in Palm Springs that was honored. AOL Travel in April 2012 picked them as the best value nudist resort in the US. Never any hidden resort fees here. In Dec 2012, The Los Angles Times newspaper did a 2/3 page feature Sunday travel article calling them the "common sense" place to stay in Palm Springs. In the summer of 2013 Palm Springs Life Magazine gave them a Best of the Best award for having the best massages at a small resort. Finally, in November 2013, the Desert Sun newspaper gave them a Best of the Valley award for being the best boutique hotel in the whole Palm Springs area. You will love your stay which is why they average about an 80% repeat guest rate, one of the highest in the travel industry. ... more   less
