The Movie Colony Hotel was a great finding online with a very smartly furnished room and beautiful garden and pool. Friendly staff and nice free continental breakfast. Would definitely stay again on another visit to Palm Springs

The property is a nice small boutique hotel, not a big resort with too many guests. It is cozy, the staff is very helpful and friendly and the whole property is very clean. The hotel is in a great location near restaurants, bars and especially wonderful Midcentury Modern design shops (near the Uptown Design District), so many things are within... More

My wife and I stayed for five nights. The hotel has a great location near restaurants, bars and shops, and a beautiful public park with tennis courts. There are some pros and cons to this hotel. Pros: very clean public areas, nice pool and hot tub, free daily continental breakfast and happy hour, cozy fire pit, and easy parking. Cons:... More

A splendid location close to the Downtown action. We love the area for morning walks and playing tennis at nearby Ruth Hardy Park. The common areas were nice and the views of the Mountains were wonderful. Breakfast nook could be a little bigger. Be careful when choosing a room though. Noise from Indian Canyon road and the adjacent restaurant courtyard... More

We have traveled to Palm Springs many times, renting homes and condos and have started to explore the boutique hotels. This strengths of this hotel are: The small size The proximity to downtown - walking distance to main drag, restaurants, etc. Nice pool, spa, and fire area Continental breakfast. Wonderful private terraces. The weaknesses are: Noise. Lots of traffic. Lots... More

This is a small property that is very close to the downtown area. The décor is mid-century modern. We stayed in a two story suite that had a nice large rooftop patio, complete with umbrellas. I loved how quiet it was! They provided a light breakfast and complimentary wine every night. There is no restaurant or bar directly on the... More

Initially worried about noise as my assigned room was on Indian Canyon side of hotel....but it was really quiet. Very mid-century modern...cool lines. Nice pool. Continental breakfast by the firepit....fun. Comfortable bed, nice towels etc. City bikes for use of guests...really great to see the interesting architecture in the immediate neighbourhood. Wifi was complimentary and worked perfectly. Ample free parking... More

Rooms were pretty minimal (as modernist design is) and clean. Bathrooms could probably use a makeover but again, all was clean. Outdoor space is where it's at in this hotel. Lovely firepit in the courtyard/bar area with a pool and hot tub. great continental breakfast in the AM at the courtyard/bar. They rent bikes out which is great in P.S..... More

My friends and I travel to the desert quite often and have never tried a boutique hotel and thought it would be fun to stay at Movie Colony. We had a wonderful time everything was walking distance. One night we ubered and our fair was only 10 dollars. The staff is friendly and knowledgeable of the area. Juana helped us... More

The Movie Colony Hotel is a gem in Palm Springs. We were a late arrival and even though the propert closes at 7, Juana assisted us by providing instructions over the phone on how to get into the property and our room. Perfect for a relaxing getaway. The staff was excellent. Always available to assist without being entrusive. Over all... More
