I was surprised that I grew to like Chestnutz, after all I really like The Wynn in Las Vegas and most 4 and 5 star resorts. But the people we met, the owners and the entirely relaxed atmosphere won me over. This is a B&B with no pretentions, no hassles, rules or pool hours. The room was small but clean... more

I'll admit I was a little hesitant because their web site didn't contain much information. I'll admit that I was a little hesistant about staying at this resort based on the online information. However, I want anyone who is at all concerned to know that Jim and Paul made us welcome, the bed was clean, the guests were kind, the... more

A nice place, lots of vintage charm, beautiful grounds, fabulous pool and hot tub. Owners Jim and Paul made us feel welcome and comfortable right from the start. The room was clean, the bed comfy, the water hot in the shower. Its also close to downtown and some great restaurants. Hostess Bailey made every effort to make us feel at... more

We spent a week at Chestnutz and had a perfect stay. The staff were all absolutely determined to make our stay enjoyable and comfortable. This is a clothing-optional gay resort, and attracts a very nice, friendly clientele who come back again and again and now we see why. The pool and hot tub are without a doubt the cleanest we've... more

I will have to admit, I was a little apprehensive at first, because I was comparing to another similar resort in the area, but that quickly went away. Jim and Paul did not hesitate at all in making us feel welcomed. And even adjusted the breakfast hours for us, because we are early risers. The four days that we were... more

This was our furst time in Palm Springs. We stayed at Chestnutz on a recommendation from a friend even though I was apprehensive based on the lack of information on the Chestnutz one page web site. First things first - hosts Jim and Paul were very friendly and accomodating, always making good suggestions for places to go, restaurants, etc. We... more

I cringe when someone says they have been referred by friends with glowing reviews. Like going to see a movie that a friend has raved about, it’s often a set-up for disappointment because we can’t match exactly what the friend experienced. We thought we made the right decision by putting two guys from Boston into a room that included a...

Chestnutz has the charm, grace, friendliness, and etched beauty of age - like most of its customers. We had a delightful time at this resort so close to downtown Palm Springs. We met very wonderful people that we hope to remain in contact with. Great conversation and comraderie. Special kudos to the owner who works hard to maintain a special... more

It may come as no surprise that hard economic times have made running a hotel even more of a challenge than usual. After twelve years in the business we’ve seen so many ups and downs, especially how it affects the guests. I just want to take a moment to say how very grateful I am for the people who come...

I've stayed at a favorite property in Palm Springs at least 6 times over the years, but found it a bit pricey when I started the booking process this year. On-line friends recommended Chestnutz, right across the street. Sure enough, their rate was $50/night cheaper. Then, owing to the recession, they lowered the rate another $30 after I'd booked which... more

I just got back from my 3rd visit to Chestnutz, and have my 4th visit booked already. I obviously recommend Chestnutz highly! Instead of heading down with friends, I was on my own this time, but had no trouble meeting nice normal friendly guys to hang out with by the pool/hot-tub or do dinner with. And of course, owners Jim... more

Our first visitation at Chestnutz was phenomenal. The hosts, Jim and Paul, are exceptional. They made us feel safe, secure, and most importantly, Welcomed. The accommodations were within a short walk or quick drive to downtown Palm Springs. Any questions about "this or that", they had an answer. We will definitely book our stay at ChestNutz again.
