Sorry Guys but do not book in or stay here. It's almost derelict and beyond hope. A great shame as we loved this place and returned a few times. Since Swede, Ruthie & Mary sold out it has gradually gone downhill to the state where it is probably beyond redemption. Our friends stayed there last weekend and will never return.

I have stayed here 3 times now and would efinitely go back again. A typical piece of hostelery history, nostagia at its best. You are a person in this place, not a room number!!

The El Rancho Lodge is stuck in the late 50s and early 60s. There is something so retro, maybe even campy about this place. This was what vacation hotels used to be in Palm Springs. If you are looking for a sleek modern resort with 1000 thread cotton sheets, designer furniture, workout room, spa and 4 star restaurants, this isn't... More

I recently stayed at El Rancho Lodge to visit my husband who is stationed in Twentynine Palms. We loved how private and quiet it was and we loved to pool and hot tub. The people were very friendly and helpful with resturant and activity ideas. We did not have a car so it was a little challenging finding a way... More

The location is not close to downtown Palm Springs, expect to drive. It is not really a "bed and breakfast" - the breakfast you get is commercially-packaged danishes, no frills at all. My king bed was two twins put together - very uncomfortable. Bathroom was dirty and water pressure was awful. Hosts were unfriendly. Bottom line: you do not get... More

Me and my girlfriend like to get away to palm springs several times a year and have stayed at several hotels and b&b's in the area. This was the first time we've had a problem. I booked the larger room 17 over a month in advance and called two days prior to confirm the reservation. When we arrived we were... More

Me and my husband just returned from a three night stay at the El Rancho lodge. We were a little unsure of what to expect from a small motel but we couldn't have been happier. We stayed in room #4 which had a full kitchen complete with pots, pans ect. The bathroom did not have a tub, but we only... More

This was our second stay in 4 months, 2 weeks at a time. We have been coming here for 25 years, 4 different owners but these are the best. It's old but new and we always enjoy the pool and hot tub and the nice people around the pool, also very peaceful at night, old Palm Springs is still the... More

I like to stay in unique lodgings whenever I can, and my husband just loves the breakfasts at B&B's. I found El Rancho on the internet and the reviews were good. I liked this motel and it definitely reminded me of long ago family vacations at motor court hotels. As per reviews, the new owners have lovingly restored El Rancho,... More

I recently spent a weekend with some friends at El Rancho Lodge located just outside of Palm Springs on E. Palm Canyon Drive. Arriving on Friday night, the darkness concealed our surroundings. The next morning I was able to see the hotel in daylight. The courtyard complete with decorative tile and indigenous plants charmed me, but more stunning was the... More
