We could've certainly stayed at The Horizon for more then one night. This place was really, really nice. We actually couldn't believe that it only had three stars, at to us it would have earned four stars. It also has a great history. Int the 50'ss and 60's it used to be the private home of Jack Wrather, a Hollywood... More

Returning for a third year we were not disappointed! An upgrade was a nice surprise and we soon settled into the familiar and welcoming calmness) after a hectic week in Vegas and travelling down from San Francisco. I was really sad to hear that the hotel has been sold to a property developer as its our favourite hotel in Palm... More

I am so impressed! And when it comes to hotels that is hard to do. This is a delightful and very comfortable hidden gem. How often do you check in to a hotel and think "I could live here". Decor is chic and the room arrangements are only surpassed by the wonderful bathroom! Continental breakfast delivered far better than I... More

What a beautiful hotel! Very quiet, great for relaxing by the pool. I loved everything about this hotel- especially having breakfast delivered to our patio every morning. Don't expect a full service hotel- the reception closes at 8pm each night. Instead, expect a gorgeous quiet place to soak up some sun, basic rooms, great pool area and free parking.

A chic, elegant and retro hotel providing luxurious accommodation in a stunning setting which all go together to create a 'wow' factor. Our first visit but definitely not our last. The service is discretely delivered to a high standard and whilst there are currently no in-house dining facilities, the continental breakfast is good and there is an abundance of restaurants,... Mid-century modern architect William F. Cody's gem, The Horizon Hotel, is a classic bungalow setting perched against the San Jacinto mountains, whose facade changes with the light each hour of the day. It was a perfect place to stay in Palm Springs for my husband and me, who were hiking in Joshua Tree National Park and then returned to the... More

A great place to stay and... More

If you're looking to get away and relax in the desert, versus the day parties that also exist in Palm Springs then this is the perfect hotel choice. The rooms are excellent, architecture bring you back to another time, yet with all the modern luxuries. We had a fireplace in our room which was a great addition and the outdoor... More

The Horizon Hotel offers upscale accommodations in a secluded setting amongst a dramatic Mt. San Jacinto backdrop. The historic property with its iconic mid-century architecture and rich Hollywood history includes 24 modern yet simplisticly appointed guest rooms. Its low-slung, angular architecture was originally designed by renowned modernist architect, William Cody in 1952 for Jack Wrather and his wife Bonita Granville. The walled two plus acreage with eight bungalows was revitalized and restored with the utmost attention to detail. Today modern amenities in combination with a serene surround and impeccable hospitality makes this retreat the perfect boutique-hotel experience just minutes to the downtown village of Palm Springs. ... more   less
