Mid-century modern architect William F. Cody's gem, The Horizon Hotel, is a classic bungalow setting perched against the San Jacinto mountains, whose facade changes with the light each hour of the day. It was a perfect place to stay in Palm Springs for my husband and me, who were hiking in Joshua Tree National Park and then returned to the... More

With so many choices in Palm Springs it's hard to work out where to pick so after fretting over The Horizon, Ace or Orbit we are really pleased to have chosen so well with Horizon and it's fantastic, quiet, beautiful location along with instantly sensing the history, style and design of years gone by. A great place to stay and... More

If you're looking to get away and relax in the desert, versus the day parties that also exist in Palm Springs then this is the perfect hotel choice. The rooms are excellent, architecture bring you back to another time, yet with all the modern luxuries. We had a fireplace in our room which was a great addition and the outdoor... More

Seriously, we looked at all the options in Palm Springs...Ace Hotel, Everywhere. And this place has the right vibe and the right price. Great value, great experience. The pool "scene" here is mellow and very well appointed. There aren't many rooms here, so it's always peaceful, and relaxing and just right. I really can't recommend this place enough. About the... My wife and I spent four days at the Horizon for our 25th wedding anniversary; and the experience was excellent in every way. I cannot offer enough praise for this property and the staff who make it so special. It is a quiet, beautifully renovated slice of late-1950s cool. (I kept looking for Dean Martin to arrive for a cocktail!)... More

We spent a week here en route to our world cruise from Los Angeles to Melbourne. It was the holiday before the holiday! The room was spacious and well equipped, decorated in whites and neutral palette. Super king size bed with the best pillows we have ever slept on completed the fit out .The Bathroom was well designed , with... More

Great little hotel. Original architecture was well preserved. Big rooms, friendly staff. I enjoyed the stay very much. You can also use the heated pool and jacuzzi whenever you like which is a plus. I can only highly recommend the place to stay.

Heralded by friends as architecturally important, adult only, and with beautiful views of the mountains, I booked this hotel sight unseen. Although the rooms are large and quite private even if overlooking the lovely pool area and mountain views, they are aging (rugs spots, etc.) and cleanliness was a problem. I found hairs on the toilet and in the shower... More

We LOVE the Horizon. Adults-only, lovely architecture, awesome indoor/outdoor shower, excellent service, very chill scene, super quiet. I haven't slept as well as I did at the Horizon. Perfect for a romantic get away.

As other reviewers have commented, this place is low rise and set out nicely around a central space with a pool, spa and bar area, complimented by lots of grassed areas. Our room was clean and included a small kitchen, in all, very spacious. We had no problems with any aspect of our stay, and really liked the mountain views... More
