If you check into this hotel most likely you are facing overcharge in your bank account. And that's not all! Service is terrible. They charge your credit card for extra night. After that they don't want to communicate to clarify the case. The owner manipulates credit card sleeps. Refuse to cooperate and don't respond to your messages. I end up... more

We arrived at this hotel in the early evening on August 8, 2008, only to find out they did not give us a room with 2 beds which we ordered. I was travelling with my two teenagers and needed 2 beds. They gave us a very small room with a roll-away bed, which was not sufficient for my son who... more

We were SHOCKED that AAA recommended this place, and regretted our reservation almost immediately upon arrival. Forget the photos, this place looks and feels like a college apartment complex. The hotel staff had an attitude of "we don't HAVE to care", the pool was filthy, and the hot tub wasn't hot. Sliding door to pool wouldn't open, forcing you to... more

Nicely appointed lodging in very quiet residential neighborhood just a few blocks from the ocean. Adequate covered parking. Desk staff was quite courteous and helpful. Room was spacious, very clean and comfortable, with lovely gas log fireplace. Only disappointment was "breakfast" - essentially a narrow long row of coffee, tea, cereals, eggs, meats, fruit, juices, milk set out in a... more

Hotel was not as bad as some of the reviews I had read, but given the chance I would problay not stay there again. I think we were the only ones staying there and this is a older property which could use updated....BUT.....if you are looking for a fairly inexpensive place to stay for a night or two and just... more

We stayed at the BW Monarch Resort in Pacific Grove for 5 nights in September. It as a perfect location - quiet residential area right near the ocean and a golf course, and yet very close to all of the things to see and do on the Monterey Peninsula. more

We stayed at the Best Western Monarch this past week for two nights. After reading the reviews before we left home we were afraid of what we would find. However, we were very satisfied with our stay. We had a second floor room. There were no musty smells, no mold and the rooms and hallways were clean. The bedspreads and... more

Where do I start.? This was the most horrible experience I have ever had in a hotel. I am astonished that Best Western would put their name to this place and that they call themselves a resort, it is more like a $40 road side motel that you can rent by the hour. From start to finish this "resort" has... more

Unless you like a room that is dark and smells like grannie's house after it has been shut up for two months move on. How this place is called a resort is beyond me.. The only thing they have is a pool I would not let my dog swim in. The rooms have a great view of the parking lot... more

This place looks just OK on the outside and is located in a great place near the butterfly sanctuary, near 17 Mile Drive, near the Ocean and near Asilomar. That's the only good thing about it. This place could use MAJOR renovation. Rooms are moldy-smelly, and small and DARK. We were promised a room with a desk (via phone) and... more
