We stayed for two nights. The place is tucked back off of 17 mile Dr. before you have to pay to drive on the road. It wasn't far from the beach, but there are no views. It looks like the hotel used to be town homes that they converted into hotel rooms. The bottom level has a full kitchen. We... more

Booked this hotel for the first two nights of our California holiday, as a quiet alternative to the bustle and noise of downtown Monterey. Weren't disappointed: found this a peaceful, clean, friendly and spacious stopover in a wonderfully quiet part of the peninsula. Superb continental-style breakfast and reasonable (a mile or so) walking distance from the eateries of central PG.... more

Hotel was nice, but not worth the $200 price tag. We were a captive audience since there was a race in town and all the hotels were either booked or at least $200 a night. Beds were comfortable and location was good. Kids loved having their own room and their own twin beds. more

1 night stop on a east coast trip. We only stayed here as we could not get a reasonably priced 2 bedroom suite in Monterey, and loved this little Motel. Pacific grove was great, surrounded by trees and really quiet after the bustle of San Francisco. The rooms were not that big but ok, and my teenagers appreciated single beds... more

We stayed at this hotel because they have suites avaliable and we needed to accomodate 2 familes. They only had a king bed with sleeper sofa available during the time that we stayed but there was more than enough room for everyone. Pluses: Large kitchen with breakfast nook, high vaulted ceiling in bedroom area makes the space feel larger, fireplace,... more

This place was great. It was a little hard to find when we first arrived. The suites were very nice and clean. We had a 2 room suite 1 king bed and 1 queen. It had a small kitchen area w/ microwave , sink and small fridge. Layout of rooms was a little strange, queen bed room had a flat screen tv,... more

Stayed for 3 nights, family of 4 with 2 teens, just after Christmas. Have stayed before and will probably stay again due to cost savings and availability of breakfast. We get the room with one king and an adjoining room with 2 twin beds, which is the middle room with one below and one above. There are 3 rooms per... more

Our room was not ready at check in time. The women behind the desk was rude and cursed because her computer was not working properly. It is hard to sleep with all the noise. I found nothing good about this hotel. I rarely write reviews, but this was so bad I felt I needed to warn others. RUN from this... more

I loved the location - a 10 minute walk to the ocean, and tucked away in a residential area. (Print yourself a map first, though, if you're trying to find it in the dark - it's set back and hard to spot.) A great find for our teens, because they got their own room with twin beds. Usually kids are... more

We commuted all the way from S.F. International Airport to Monterey, CA. Thanks to the safe and fast travel provided by Monterey Airbus, they charge only $40 one-way. Anyway, the driver dropped us off to Howard Johnson Express Inn at 660 Dennet Ave., Pacific Grove, CA. It is within the residential area so we were expecting a quiter place to... more
