We spent a single night in the Monterey area and found a "walk-in" coupon for the Rosedale Inn. They took it with no hassle and gave us a nice room with a jacuzzi tub and fireplace. Wi-fi worked great. The key is that it is just a short walk from the ocean and 17 mile drive - across the street... more

The staff at the Rosedale Inn are exceptionally personal. They went out of their way to make us feel welcomed and also recommended great dining locations. Our room was spacious. We had a seperate living room and bedroom. The room was clean and comfortable. We found the Inn charming. We were especially surprised to see deer walking near the facilities.... more

The BEST location if you can stand the smell. The rooms in our "deluxe king suite" were huge and everything about the location is fabulous. We stayed here after Christmas and were OK with the size and room overall. The decor is very 1980s bachelor and the King Deluxe suite had a musty smell, was dark and did not feel... more

My husband and I have stayed at this lodge for a 4-day weekend in early December, every year for over a decade. We always book Room 117 -- our favorite because of its ample space and the fact that the bedroom is in the back, where it is darkest and the living room area is much brighter. (Some of the... more

We visited the Montrey area staying 5 nights in late October of 2008. The queen room that we stayed in was neat and tidy with all the essentials required for an extended stay in the area. The Rosedale in ideally located to visit the many attractions in the various communities in the region. The hosts were very helpful with suggestions... more

My husband and I stayed here for a weekend. It was nice, homey. Looks like a converted/slightly upgraded motel more than a hotel or 'inn'. We didn't expect much, just wanted to get away together, so we were very happy. We had a two room suite. Furniture was a bit dated, but the bed was comfortable and the bathroom was... more

Nothing extra special -- but no unpleasant surprises. We are a family of four and stayed in a two room suite. It was motel (not hotel) quality but had plenty of space. It was a little musty -- but opening the windows took care of the smell. The stay was very quiet. Breakfast was quite nice. It was great to... more

My family an I stayed at this hotel in a two room suite, the internet was difficult to access and the recently remodeled room seemed dated and run down. We called the front desk for extra pillows and were given a sheet to fold up and use instead. The room looked clean on the surface but the jetted tub was... more

We moved from an overpriced and extremely noisy "upscale" hotel in Monterey to this very quiet place consisting of cabins, each with two sets of "suites". I think the word 'suites' is an exaggeration and luxury is a comparative and relative word which I wouldn't have chosen. However, that said, this place is very reasonably priced. It is directly across... more

My husband & I were doing road trip of California & just found this hotel in a coupon book. We didn't pre-book, just turned up & luckily they had rooms (we did travel out of season). Our room was lovely - comfortable bed, fire place, jacuzzi bath - very romantic. We did receive a discount (on top of the coupon... more
