Several of us took rooms overnight recently. The rooms were functional, comfortable, basic. Real fireplaces and popcorn poppers were nice. Staff were friendly and helpful. The complimentary wine and cheese was unexpected. The continental breakfast had reasonable variety. The price was right. more

I was in Pacific Grove for a conference at the Asilomar, and the Pacific Gardens Inn was an excellent choice for staying offsite, but very close by. I woke up to a yummy breakfast, for me this included muffins, bagels and eggs with fresh oj and tea before heading out for the conference, came back for the wine and cheese... more

I wanted to review this place since I disagree with the high ratings it receives on this site. To be clear, there are no huge problems with the place (except perhaps cleanliness). If you are looking for a motel that is not too expensive and you aren't too picky, it will probably do fine. It looks like it was last... more

We selected the Pacific Gardens from reviews in Trip Advisor & were pleased that we did. We did not reserve and just arrived on Sunday afternoon. A conference was beginning on Tuesday & the area was going to be totally booked, so good timing. We had a very good sized room for 2 nights and felt the price was also... more

For around $100 I expected a clean, comfortable room. What I got was a great deal more. Two queen beds in a spacious room. A fireplace well-stocked with wood. An in-room popcorn popper (my daughter's favorite). Quiet, rustic surroundings. Add to that a generous continental breakfast and a complimentary evening wine and cheese gathering. Should I mention that upon hearing... more

Fairly standard looking rooms, but quite large and the log fires are lovely. The room was clean and comfortable, and the motel was in a great location for what we wanted - a one night stop-over to see the coast and the Monteray Bay aquarium. We paid around £75 for the night, which did seem a bit much. The breakfast... more

Booking was a hassle. I never waited less than 5 minutes on hold. When trying to book a room, I was told that the rates listed on their web site are their AAA rates, even though it's not mentioned on the page. After talking some sense into them, they agreed to a $99 dollar rate. Upon arriving however, the rate... more

It had been 12 years since I'd been to this area so I was not familiar with lodging available. I wanted to say on Asilomar Blvd to take advantage of the ocean walks and seeing the roaming deer. I had come down with a bad cold just days of my trip and called to possibly cancel but unfortunately it was... more

This was about our 6th time staying here and as always we were not disappointed! The staff was friendly and helpful with all of our questions and needs. There isn't a weak spot amongst them! We picked a Deluxe Suite which included a living room with fireplace & sofa sleeper, full kitchen with microwave & popcorn popper (popcorn included each... more

First time at Pacific Gardens after many years of staying at another establishment down the road that has badly deteriorated. Very dog friendly which was essential for us. Well maintained rooms. Good size. Working fireplaces. WiFi in the room or there's a guest-usable computer in lobby. Simple breakfast provided. Extremely friendly and helpful staff. And of course it's Pacific Grove/Monterey... more
