We booked Pacific Gardens Inn because of the great reviews on Trip Advisor and because it seemed to be a good value. After reading reviews, I expected it to be "rustic," but was disappointed anyway. The rooms are so outdated and need a total overhaul. Wheelbarrows and other broken equipment just sat outside our window the whole time. When we... More

The reason I chose this place is because it is reasonably priced and they accept dogs. As others have said, it is dated but clean. That is the best thing about it. I was given a room (119) attached to the office and next to one of two spas. On a Monday night, there were two parties at the spas... More

We were in the Monterey Bay area for a family reunion. Compared to where the rest of our family stayed, we thought that we had a great value. Dog friendly, continental breakfast, TV, large rooms, coffee maker and a popcorn machine. The property does show its age but it is meticulously taken care of and we ourselves were impress with... We moved from Houston to the Monterey Bay area a few months ago. Knowing it would take at least a few days to find a house to rent once we got here, we made a three-night reservation at Pacific Gardens Inn in one of their dog-friendly rooms. It was on the second floor, and our big dog couldn't handle the... More

We were going to celebrate my mom's 80th birthday with a big extended family weekend. Robert and staff were wonderful accomodating us ahead of time, being flexible as we weren't sure who all would make it for the weekend. He gave us a great rate, and a conference room as we booked sufficient rooms. The wine and cheese was wonderful,... More

This was a great location for 3 days in Monterey. With a fireplace in every room it made for a comfortable winters stay. The afternoon wine and cheese time in front of a big fire was a big hit with me. It gave me the opportunity to speak with other travellers and proved to be a good source of local... More

Quiet Pacific Grove. Nothing fancy. Warm and cozy. Has a small spa. Deer stroll through most days. 10 minute walk to the beach. Fireplace stocked with wood and gas starter. We have stayed here many times Sometimes with kids, other family members, and just the two of us. Worked every time.

This was our first time visiting Pacific Grove and we enjoyed our stay very much. The room was clean and quiet and the afternoon wine and cheese was a nice way to meet other travelers. It is pet friendly and several guests had their dogs along and there are trails very near by that are perfect for walking dogs and... More

My husband and I wanted a place central to the activities that we would be doing for our anniversary get-away. This hotel was a great fit. **Pros-close to Monterey without the high tourist price and close to Big Sur. Walking distance to the beach and a nice boardwalk. Warm, friendly staff that recommended local places to eat with coupons and... More

This was our third stay here. This place is awesome. Given a choice we wouldn't stay anywhere else in the area. I actually don't feel good about reviewing this place, because it does get busy, and it's one of those places that you want to keep all to yourself. We stayed in a 2 bedroom with two young boys. The... More
