We spent one night at the Pacific Groove Inn as the starting point to a day trip across US-1 which took us to Santa Barbara. The Inn is located walking distance from Lovers Point and the main street of Pacific Groove, beautiful walk around. We had one of the back-rooms in the chalet behind the house, the room was very... We had a living social coupon so had a great deal on room and even had an ocean view. It is a beautiful historic building, the carpet and furnishing are a little worn out but it is clean. Had a made to order breakfast and it is an easy walk to lots of restaurants and or the waterfront.

A gorgeous Victorian close to everything that serves complementary, marvelous breakfast, complementary wine and cheese at 4:00PM, and fresh baked cookies in the evening. Many rooms have view. Bathrooms are quite nice. Nothing shabby about the place. Good off-street parking. And, a very friendly, helpful staff.

My daughter and I enjoyed our stay here and found it close to interesting shops and some good restaurants. It was pretty quiet, my mattress (two bedrooms in the top room facing the street) was EXTREMELY comfortable, and there were no creepy crawlies which always gets at least three stars from me. Ian is a gem and he helped check... More

We did the Pacific coast route and had 14 different hotel reservations. Everything went well apart from this one. We arrived with our print out showing confirmation detail but they seemed very confused as though this was the first hotel stay ever. This irritable mother and daughter team kept us waiting for ages while they discussed if ebookers were an... More

I don't do 'character' hotels - I prefer the certainty and consistency of hotel chains. Boring I know but there you are. The Pacific Grove might just change my mind. What a lovely old building, in a great location out of the 'tourist bit' of Monterey. Parking is easy. The staff are welcoming and attentive - special mention goes to... More

A large Victorian style building that immediately takes one back in time. A very aging property, but still reflecting charm. A second building is in back of the main building , along with a large parking area . The bedroom is comfortable, with a fireplace and unexpected "towel warmer" rack in the bathroom. You are greeted at breakfast in the... More

We had a great experience at the Pacific Grove Inn last week. I had a little trepidation given some of the reviews, particularly about their ability to handle all of the guests in the dining room for breakfast, but they came through with flying colors. I don't think they were full (mid-week and not peak season), but I give them... More

Employees seem nice, in a great location, nice dining area. We got a Living Social deal for a king suite. The bed was wonderfully comfortable. The furnishings are in a real need of updating (and I am not that fussy). The bathroom really needs it. There was a DVD player in the bedroom but, while there was a place for... More

Manager, from Sri Lanka, extremely friendly and helpful with places to go, eat, etc. we usually stay in BW Plus hotels. This has no elevator so does not qualify as Plus. Do not let that stop you--this is better than any BW Plus we have stayed at! More like a condo or apartment-- even has individual garages. Spotlessly clean, quiet... More
