Amanda has done a loving job of restoring this old house. The location is quiet and close driving distance to Point Reyes. I got a good night's sleep. Sorry, I can't call what was offered as "breakfast." Nice fruit and home made yogurt, decent coffee (not available until 7:30). The 'granola was nearly raw oats and nuts...no oil or honey...and... Thank you for your compliments on our inn. Your rate for the room for Sunday evening was $150 plus tax. Our breakfast is healthy and includes both muesli and granola from From the Fields, a Marin company that sources all organic ingredients. I love the granola and we get many compliments on the food as well as on our organic... More

We've stayed here a few times and were never disappointed. The staff is incredibly helpful and friendly, the rooms are charming and very clean, and the breakfasts are excellent. This place is walking distance from "downtown" Olema, and only a 5 minute drive from Point Reyes station. Will definitely be staying here next time I come back to Point Reyes.

We spent one night at Bear Valley Inn at wish it would have been longer! There is so much to see and do in the area and the B&B is a cosy and relaxing place to stay to enjoy it all! We stayed in the Poppy room, which is the room with the bathroom across the hall but we didn't... More

We absolutely loved our 2 night stay in Hummingbird Cottage and would definitely recommend it as a great place to stay if you want to visit the Point Reyes Seashore Area. The Cottage was more than spacious for our family of 4. We found that the beds were very comfortable and could not hear the road noise at all. Plus... More

We are so glad that you enjoyed your visit to the Pt. Reyes area! The hummingbirds are one of our favorite things about the cottage as well. We hope that you have the opportunity to return in the future, since there will soon be two sinks in the cottage, and a few other upgrades as well. And we commend you... More

We spent one night here recently. It's a small place and sound travels. Our bathroom was across the hall from our room, though there was a screen we could pull out to prevent others from seeing us. Breakfast was light, consisting of fruit, yogurt and muesli, the latter of which was delicious. There was orange juice, too, as well as... More

Thank you for staying with us. I remember talking about the hiking and I'm glad that you enjoyed your visit to the Point Reyes Area. The muesli and granola are from a company called From the Fields and their products are excellent. A suggestion to all reviewers, if you experience weak coffee or any other issue at an inn, it... stayed at BVI last nigh, room (Tides) nice although tight, inn location great, historic building, nice lounge and complementary sherry. We were sitting in lounge and staff came to lock front door and turned off half lights, pattern repeated in the mornign when same staff came into lounge and turned off the gas fire - too warm. Light breakfast consisted... More

We are sorry that our inn did not meet your expectations. We do serve a light breakfast consisting of From the Fields granola, produced here in Marin County, Straus milk and half and half, locally roasted coffee, Mighty Leaf tea options and fruit along with homemade yogurt made from Straus milk from local dairies. We also serve orange juice and... More

Although I'm nearly a year overdue writing my glowing recommendation of the Bear Valley Inn, my travel notes reminded me quickly of how much I enjoyed my stay. I was a solo guest for a week during June 2014, taking day trips and hikes around the Point Reyes National Seashore and surrounding areas. Perfect location to access everything. My home... More

We choose this inn based on the facts that they are a green business and could accommodate a family of five for only 2 nights on a long weekend. The inn has a lot of charm. We were staying in the cottage adjacent to the main house where the owners live. I did not actually meet them (my husband briefly... More

Point Reyes National Seashore is one of our favorite destinations in the world, and we've stayed in various cottages and rental houses when coming here. This time, it was hard to find an available cottage that would sleep 2 adults and 2 children. I was a bit nervous about booking Hummingbird Cottage at the Bear Valley Inn, as the reviews... More

I loved this B&B. Spend a chilly night in front of their fire, sipping Sherry, with our feet up on their little stuffed bear, then headed upstairs to enjoy clean, well-appointed rooms with comfy beds and warm comforters.
