Unless you want to pay a fortune for overpriced, mediocrerooms -- with dated interiors -- and poor service, then I suggest you avoid this place.

Unfairly I am comparing this hotel to the Ritz Carlton at Half Moon Bay where I had been the weekend before. I say unfairly because Ojai Valley Inn was opened in 1923, the Ritz Carlton HMB in 2000. They are, however, similar in size (305 rooms versus 264 for the Ritz), are rated four stars, have a golf course and... More

The resort expands throughout several buildings in a rolling verdant setting nestled in the mountains which rise in lovely contrast on all sides. The architecture is largely colonial Spanish, painted white stucco and earth colored tiles. The spa building is wonderfully simple and quiet, with a great wood floored yoga studio, both coed and single sex resting rooms and the... More

The property grounds are gorgeous (hilly, so if you are not inclined to walking may not be your speed..although they will shuttle you around in a golfcart) The family pool is great and they have a little kids shallow pool which was perfect for my one year old to play in. The food was really good.. way better than most... More

we stayed 2 nights at the ojai valley inn. the grounds are lovely and peaceful. the rooms are nice but rather a dated style. we booked through snique away and were given a first floor room with no view and it was a handicapped room. the restaurants are expensive and just average food. probably will not stay again

This hotel is among the most luxurious we have stayed in California. It is relaxing as it is expansive. The staff is incredibly friendly and accomodating. The rooms impeccable. We are not golfers, but the course looked divine. The only down-side we found was room service. It was incredibly poor for a hotel of this caliber and had the rest... More

Just did a day trip to the spa here and it was deeeeelightful. Very quiet, relaxing and peaceful. Staff was friendly, courteous. Lockers, changing rooms, showers, relaxation areas were all wonderful. Relaxation areas were plentiful, both indoor and outdoor spaces, and contained a large number of lounge chairs. There were no problems finding a space during the Thanksgiving Day holiday... More

I brought my extended family here for a few days' getaway, and we had the most wonderful stay. From the very first communication confirming our reservation, we were treated with nothing less than courteous attention and care. We took the recommendations of very conscientious Spa staff, booking treatments for everyone, and were booked in to two adjoining Fireplace Shangri-La suites... More

My kind of hotel! Seeking Serenity is the sign on the door instead of the usual 'do not disturb'. Serenity is what I was seeking and was not disappointed. The property is so beautiful this time of year. I can imagine many weddings would take place here. There are flowers everywhere, if it wasn't for the cooler weather and the... More

The staff are the best, this is why I will continue to come back again and again. Rooms are spacious, F&B is the best I've seen for years of coming to the resort, Golf course is challenging and in wonderful condition, Spa is to die for. Overall this is the best thing for a getaway that I have experienced.
